I'm enjoying this. Sounds like what I might call "folk pop rock" or something like that. An interesting and eclectic mix of sounds that blends together pretty well with some really cool rhythmic and instrumental arrangements (mainly different stringed instruments) blending from more poppy sounds to more ambient sounds. Thanks for sharing it!

SPAZA - UPRIZE! (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (2020)
MadAdaM replied to Mr. Electric's topic in Miscellaneous
Thanks for this! I wasn't aware of this film/documentary, but it seems like it could be interesting with the way it tries to tell a bit about the political/social history of South Africa before the fall of Apartheid. A couple of the jazz songs on here seem pretty good and low-key, but most of the music sounds more like ambient stuff layered over historical sound clips. Not sure how much I enjoy the non-jazz stuff, but I'm definitely going to check it out a bit more. -

This seems really great! A nice broad mix of styles all blended together in very complimentary ways here. I'd say the basic sound in most songs is shoegaze, but with a continuous energy and nice soft airy vocals that help keep the songs moving forward, with a general song structure that reminds me a lot of post-rock songs. And this is just sort of the "basic" description of most songs' sound on this album, but with a lot more thrown in beside, some nice clean (and strongly varied) instrumentation on top of a lot of the fuzzy-shoegaze guitar sounds also. Really a great mix and something that's very enjoyable to listen to longer and longer!

Mansions just released another album (on Sept 11th), seems a bit like a b-sides EP with some different mixes of some of these songs. It's called "Big Bad At Home" https://mansions.bandcamp.com/album/big-bad-at-home The new versions are also SUPER good! @Summers - I don't know where you guys get leaks nor even how to make a request. But is that something you'd be able to help provide or be interested in sharing on here? I know I'd love to get that album in 320 MP3. Thanks for this one above though for sure, I've been enjoying it for quite a while now!

Great share! Dikembe is an AWESOME band! This one seems slightly more mellow and less energetic overall than some of their previous releases.... certainly a bit more downer and less funny/upbeat, but they say the subject matter is a focus on the death of one of the band member's mother. And there's definitely some good driving parts and the characteristic Dikembe sound throughout. I need to give it more listens, but I've already enjoyed it several times! Also, for anyone interested, you can get a lot of their previous releases for "pay what you want" on their bandcamp, and as I said, most their previous releases are also really awesome! https://dikembe.bandcamp.com/

Thanks for this single! I checked out their bandcamp where they have more singles off this new album coming: https://kiddad.bandcamp.com/releases Makes me really excited to get the full album... hoping you release it here when it's out! It's got some great hard-hitting grunge sounds, some modern emo and post-hardcore sounds mixed with late 90s alternative rock... a really cool blend of genres and pretty broad mix of sounds that seems to all be really well done!

A great emo punk band! Also, the recording of this is pretty good, nothing like in the video preview on the original post... you can check out the general quality on their bandcamp here: https://gulfer.bandcamp.com/album/live-in-japan They're a really great band and this recording seems pretty good but not overly polished... I'm looking forward to giving this more listen.

@Blink-182 I agree, some great vibes on the sounds, but hardly any vocals at all (most songs have none)! Shame... they really should do more vocals to bring it all together more. @Chief Thanks for sharing the bandcamp link, I really appreciate that! I can't seem to get the download link to work at all for me though. Can you post it on the "passtheleaks" hosting service?

Excited about this! I really like this band's past music! This is an interesting change from the norm in that all the songs are stripped down and recorded mainly outdoors and live. Definitely a lot "softer" than usual (as the title suggest)... but still seems like some really clean and warm recordings... very nice!
