So you're going to pin Zach for being a monotone screamer when you can say that for just about 100% of the entire genre using that logic? He utilized his range extremely well, as do most vocalists in this genre. Way back in the Woe, Is Me days, Michael Bohn had essentially one pitch for his screaming technique, apart from his pronunciation playing a part, and even that isn't monotone. That's how he screams. That was an awful argument, as well as the part concerning the synths. That was what made this band different. How they were able to incorporate the electronics department so fucking flawlessly and so diversely in each song was what crafted the phenomenal moments on New Demons. Of course it's going to be the factor differentiating the songs from one another, but Zach being monotone was quite silly and misinformed I must say. Sorry for the rant but I'm passionate about this genre and I can't stand when people are so quick to shit on quality music.

... the vocal ratio between the two is essentially even on New Demons, which is arguably their best work by a long shot. None of the songs on that album sounded alike, and the beautiful synth work was done by Zach. Idk if you really gave that album a listen, but it is miles ahead of this in every way, from the production to the atmosphere.

That's your opinion man. First LP was heavy, experimental, and catchy as fuck. Sophomore fell off in terms of hype moments (Blue Wall slays, but the overall lack of Michael's dominating presence like on their debut is disappointing). Debut/EP will always slay anything they put out because that was their chance to prove themselves and they had pure energy. This album grew on me after about 5 straight plays but definitely not an album worth remembering after Warped passes along.
