I expected another generic acoustic ballad, but damn this is pretty good, it's got those 80s vibes too

All the singles so far have been phenomenal, and the album will have 22 tracks, if they keep up this quality throughout the whole record then this is set to be on par with "I like it when you sleep... " or even surpass it. I hope the multiple delays benefits the album in the long run, so stoked to hear the whole thing when it drops

This is an absolute banger, can't believe they made this in just a week.

Can anyone post this on a site that's not complete dogshit? PTL isn't working and the other one is a nightmare...

I never expected The 1975 to go full-on punk and pull it off so well. It was a bold move for them to use this one as a lead single and I applaud them for it, and hopefully it means the new album will sound wacky and experimental in a good way.

Song sounds decent, but man that album title is cringey. Especially considering their fanbase is one of the most toxic ones out there.

11 hours ago, Cormando182 said:Thats ridiculous making fans wait 7 months for a damn album.
Especially when it was delayed TWICE, first it was supposed to come out last spring and then they said August and now it's February 2020? They should not have hyped people up and talked about releasing two albums when they're separated by almost two years, that's the usual length of album cycles anyway.

Been waiting for this, thanks! This is so good, catchy tunes and overall just a damn great album and it deserves some more recognition.

Shit.
I've always had problems with debree, I have to save to google drive to download because the download button almost never works. And as for passtheleaks, well don't even get me started on that. With my poor ass internet connection and IDM, it's impossible to download anything from there unless I'm lucky.

Not sure what I expected with this song title, but yeah this is not for me. Tried getting into her music because everyone keeps calling her "unique" but every song so far has been bland as hell. (before you attack me, remember this is a personal opinion, nothing more)

I dig this.
Is it different? Yes.
Is it good? Fuck yes
Is it their best album? It's up there among the top 3
Will it alienate the fanbase? I reckon it will, but some of them will come around, the album is a grower.
Personal rating: strong 4.5/5
Favorites are Wonderful life, MANTRA, nihilist blues, in the dark, sugar honey ice n tea and medecine
If i had to pick a least favorite it would be mother tongue (it's still a decent song tho, but not as good as the rest)
(PS: they weren't lying about those last 5 seconds of heavy metal.)

The 1975 - Notes on a Conditional Form (2020)
in Indie Rock

After the first listen, I feel like this might just be able to surpass "I like it when you sleep...." as their best album, I really dig the Lo-Fi vibe of some of the songs on the album, namely Nothing Revealed/Everything Denied. Will give it a few more listens before I decide but this is definitely feeling like a 9/10 for me at the moment, totally worth the long wait.
The stand out tracks for me (besides the singles) are Nothing Revealed/Everything Denied, Tonight (I Wish I Was Your Boy), What Should I Say
