The saddest part of FFDP is that Ivan has some legit vocal ability, but I don't recall ever hearing a FFDP song and going "Yep, Ivan did a good job there". He was better in Motograter, and I wouldn't call myself a fan of Motograter either.

Yeah man couldn't have said it any better myself.. he seems like he could be an incredible vocalist like FFDP could have been something special for this generation like Slipknot was for it's, not to keep comparing the two but you're right he does stuff kinda half assed both lyrically and vocally and it sucks because I've wanted to like the band but its so hard when they drop shit like Jekyll and Hyde where it just sounds like he is yelling "im so god damn mother fuckin pissed right now and I want to punch someone In the mother god damn face" over the phone

  2. Honestly this band has great instrumentals most of the time but it's their vocalist that ruins it for me every single time

He either sounds like Corey Taylor trying to take a shit that's been stuck inside of him for a week or a pissed off hillbilly that grew up in a ghetto with a terrible education program that led him to crime and now that he has served his 2 years in prison, is a week fresh off probation, and his girlfriend put "his" car in her name he thinks he is a badass

And that's just when I get from the sound of his voice after the intro to Jekyll and Hyde I stopped trying to even care about the lyrics

  3. There's a few pretty neat little callback "Easter egg" type things to notice with this release! One being the similarities between the piano melody in the chorus and the melody of the piano break towards the end of Caught Like A Fly and then in the video not only do we see the prom queen from the original album art but also if you pay attention to Ronnie's mouth you can see he actually IS a vampire this time around!

I thought at first that the Tim Burton/Sally inspired cover art was kinda random but then I thought about an old interview/tattoo tour type of thing where Jacky talks about his Tim Burton sleeve and that kinda made me feel like maybe the piano solo and the reimagined cover could possibly be tribute/shout out/thank you to Jacky for being what he was for the debut album but that one is just speculation on my part! I'm really not sure what the significance of the prom queen catching on fire in the end of the video is but I may be missing something thereWith all that being said I am absolutely blown away by this not only how incredibly beautiful it is but Ronnie's growth since TDIMIY and also DIYLF he has made some tiny little choices musically and personally over his long career that I've not been a huge fan of but he has never failed to absolutely blow my mind at some point with everything he has done.. Love it

  4. Nostalgia goes HARD me and Shay had a convo this year about the When You Can't series and he said that as a fan of the other tracks I should be proud of this one so I'm excited to check it out

Im hearing some Covette vibes but I'm only half way through the album.. loving it so far though!

  5. I honestly could not stand country music for most of my life until one day I was at a party and the music video for Stay by Florida Georgia Line came on and I was a little fucked up hearing the track for the first time and it blew my mind.. at the time they only had two albums out but I listened to them right away and was in love and a bit more open minded to country and my girlfriend at the time told me about Jason Aldean and I heard Tonight Looks Good On You and Gonna Know We Were Here and I was even more into it this dude absolutely kills it every time, his guitarist comes up with some of the dopest fucking riffs Gonna Know We Were Here could easily be some type of rock or metal track and I absolutely love it Jason Aldean continues to release some of the best country music I've ever heard, Fucking "We Back" is literally so heavy for a country song if you think about it like idk dude he definitely knows what's up

If you've made it this far my country music catalog consists of Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Thomas Rhett, and like 2 Sam Hunt songs

If you have any suggestions for similar artists I should check out I'd love that, I'll be honest up front I absolutely cannot stand Like Combs no beef to anyone who likes him just definitely not my type of country

Being a huge Melanie fan, it would be a disservice to not post it.

I've just never seen a download for video posted on KL so I was kinda worried about how I was going to be able to watch this until I can purchase it next month but you came through! Thanks so much for posting it!

    I LOVE THE WHOLE THING

    MY FAV PART IS DETENTION

Judging by your dislike I think you may have misunderstood my comment

That was pure excitement as I had no idea that KL was going to post this

I started watching last night and it was instantly amazing,  it makes the album even better than it already was as I figured it would

Just wanted to clear that up because I see a lot of people hating on this and Melanie in general and I ain't with all that I feel like I waited forever since Crybaby for this and it was so so so worth the wait Melanie is absolutely incredible for putting all of this together

  8. Don Broco has easily become one of if not my favorite band over the past couple of years and I know this is going to bang but something feels so weird about it to me,  not about the song or the features or anything like that just the vibe of this release or leak I guess? I can't find this on spotify which is kinda weird too but then again maybe I just have mental issues hahahaha

  9. I listened to this about three times in a row yesterday really trying find something that would make me want to come back for more like Crybaby did but it was hard to find anything really catchy or well structured enough to get stuck in my head but dont get me wrong i think this thing bangs but i just think that its going to play out way better as an artpop musical film than it does as a standalone studio pop album

Which seems to be exactly what she was going for or else i dont think she would have made an entire film for it and probably would have released promotional singles instead of snippets of music and film that play out almost as trailers

I think what we are really getting here is a feature length artpop musical with an actual plot or ultimate meaning behind it all

The "album" itself is just a soundtrack and the film just so happens to come with a physical copy of that soundtrack

Thats my assumption at least but i mean i havent seen the film so i could be completely wrong it could just end up being a series of music videos and then in that case we got a pretty good but forgettable album that comes with a bonus music video DVD

Regardless im just happy that she is continuing to make art because after the long wait and those false accusations for a minute there i thought she may have been done

Ill gladly support her in anything she does as long as she continues to do it

This is the part where i realize ive said way to much and should say some witty self aware shit like "thanks for coming to my ted talk"

But honestly i absolutely fuckin hate when people do that so if you read all of this

Im sorry i made you read all of this lol

  10. The single for this sounds sickkkk all that experimental instrumentation isnt something you hear a whole lot lately.. i expected a generic new york slam hardcore beatdown band but was pleasantly surprised by something completely different.. Great stuff!

  11. i found out about this album late, i always knew of Saosin because of Seven Years and You're not alone and i dabbled in a few other tracks but then i heard Finding Home and that changed everythinggggg for me.. of course this was like 8 to 10 years ago but i still havent peeped the full album.. not really sure why but im glad im coming to it so late because ill actually be able to take it all in with a full clear mind.. Im pretty excited to hear this thing in full!

  12. man the imagery here is incredible, the instrumental on the single is incredible, but the vocals just arent doing it for me which sucks i hate when bands have soooo much potential and and the vocals come in and kinda ruin the whole thing.. at least thats how it often goes for me! i will definitely be peeping the rest of the album just because of the awesome sights and sounds even though i know ill probably dislike the vocals throughout
