Maybe me being the spoiled, absent little brother is what gets me mentioned lmfao

Just now, neebnoob18 said:Trivium surprised me. I didn't think I would like it very much but there were some bangers on it. Not quite sure if it quite qualifies for the list tho
Fair enough. Trivium is a band that you either highly enjoy or just don't fully get, so I understand that!
Also, I edited my initial comment in case you didn't see that lol

I didn't bother to read through the other comments so I don't know what other people have suggested BUT
1.) Listen to Trivium's new Record. It's pretty damn good.
2.) August Burns Red had a great release this year too imo
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY
If you have not listened to The Way It Ends by Currents, DO IT NOW. Especially if you enjoyed Bury Tomorrow's and The Ghost Inside's release!
***EDIT***
Also, From Ashes to New's recent album wasn't half bad if you haven't heard that yet.

Admittedly, yeah it does seem pretty metal in a way or two.
Although you can REALLY tell someone cheaply cut off a part of a topless picture of him and cropped it to fit the knight lmao. Look at the shoulders, it's VERY obviously cropped in and not very well either lmao.

Now, he released that If I Was Black song which was him backpedalling on what he was saying before which spoils the appeal of his trolling a bit and his fanbase just kept getting as pretentious as their own version of 'wokeness' would allow that it's impossible for me to not make fun of him and his fans whenever I can.
You sound more pretentious than the fanbase you refer to tbh.
And I'm not a fan of Tom honestly. Just not a fan. But wow you sound like an asshat XD

I will throw out a BIG agree on this. This album is sooo fucking good. One of the few 2018 albums that is still in regular rotation for me

Whichever single it was, I really don't remember which one, I absolutely adored - that song was so super good and I was ready for this album, but the next 2 singles were really...not nearly as good I guess I'll say. I've seen lots of good things about a few of the non-single tracks tho, so I'll definitely still give the album a spin and am excited to do so. But am I the only one who though the singles overall were pretty lackluster?

On 5/26/2020 at 10:04 PM, TimmyThicc said:One of these days, metalcore bands that went "soft" WILL go back to their original heavy sound. Whether it be for the hype / marketing, or as a last group effort it's going to happen.
When the well of radio rocks begins to dry up, the tactic of going back to "that 2008-2012 shit" will become the new selling point as that style becomes "new cool shit" again in the eyes of the masses / commercial success.I'm calling it right now.
Example: "7th AA album to be SUAS heavy. Danny: I feel it again, and that what the fans want"
and of course once this happens everyone here will rejoice and circlejerk to no end.
Oh and before anyone says "they don't go back because they don't know how to write a good song in their old style anymore / they washed up" well that doesn't matter. It could be absolute shit, regurgitated rehashed material, or phenomenal and people will still be talking about it. A couple albums after a change in sound won't draw in as many people. Case in point some here have said they're done with this band (we all say this but come back lol), but if a band sWiTchEs iT uP and goes heavy all of a sudden, you'll have genuine interest again.
I can already see the comments "omg they did it again! "I knew they still had it" "no way" "this is the REAL bandnamegoeshere" "yesss they listened to us!" etc...
I mean at least it'd be great if these bands just said "We changed sound because MONEY" instead of some bs they cover it with "our fans safety" "more mature" "ExPLorE NeW sOUNdS"
also get that "tHis iS oUR HeAviESt tO dATE" teaser fuckery out of here. 2 seconds doesn't count (except BMTH on Heavy Metal, that's a different context and they're a whole other situation entirely)
makes sense.
But with AA, if they go, I'll just say "Took Long Enough" and then leave it alone. If they still got it, they certainly ain't showing us jack diddly shit to prove it. In which, I refuse to believe they do unless they show us. And if they produce something decent in the old style again, cool - at least it's listenable instead of whatever trash this album was. This entire album was regurgitated radio butt rock. Even generic and boring core albums are things I can listen to sometimes because it's core and I love core - but whatever nonsense Like a House On Fire was is just not worth another listen again.
Ever.

Holy fuck this is filthy. As absurd as describing music as "thicc" is, it a very accurate description for this song

1.) Trivium - What the Dead Men Say
2.) August Burns Red - Guardians
3.) Red - Declaration
Also, there's two options for Trivium here.......

Super hype for this record now that it's confirmed!

Man this song got me all up in the feels
I didn't know the drummer had lost his leg either until I watched the video and that broke me as a drummer myself.-

I’m 100% down for this! I’m primarily on YouTube Music so that’s be best for me but I’d be open to Download Spotify specifically for these playlists!
Just started a new group on Facebook with a few friends that’s grown a bit already, and this would be PERFECT for helping to promote new music to members there as well!

- Pop/ EDM
- Alternative rock/metal.
-Core music.
- Progressive rock/metal/djent.
- Post rock/metal.
-Death/black metal.
-Hip hop/Trap/R&B
These different categories are perfect imo

After Hours by The Weeknd is an easy win for me here.
Not a fan of him overall, but this album hits me hard in more ways than I can count or begin to describe after everything with my ex, and God damn it, Abel brought the album in hot and it is phenomenal. I loved Silverstein as well, but The Weeknd hit me hardAnd I gotta give After Hours EXTRA props because it's an album from an artist that I wouldn't even say I'm a fan of - the album is just so...emotional and good.

ADTR just aren't gonna release at this point lmao (not factual information)
On a serious note, they seriously need to get their shit together and release it already
It's already been MONTHS since originally planned.

2 hours ago, Coma Witch said:Fantastic album, one of their best. Really glad that they strove for something a little different on this one, I found myself a little disappointed with Phantom Anthem because their sound was becoming so static. So many top tier ABR songs on this thing. Favorites are for sure The Narrative (aka the best ABR opening song ever), Paramount, Defender, Dismembered Memory, Ties That Bind, and Empty Heaven.
I adored Defender as a single and that's what's actually got me to pre-order the CD, and I even pre-ordered the signed CD. Can't wait to listen to this! I'm honestly gonna wait to bang it for the first time with my CD

Picture in the house was 3 years ago. Picture in the tent was just a few months ago. Don’t have anything more recent 😬

2 minutes ago, Rian-AL said:Exactly. And I have no doubt that in 2021 they will compile volume 1 and 2, and release a deluxe version with two more bonus tracks, totaling 20 tracks.
Really depends. I was certain that V would have deluxe edition tracks, not a separate EP release over a year later, but I'm so down for something like tho haha.

Hell yeah borther
20 minutes ago, ItsLogan said:Solid release, just wish they would've gave us the other 5 songs for the full album experience, 9 songs seems hella short, all but one I liked.
It is hella short. But in just a few months, New Empire, Vol. 2 will be released with another 9+ tracks on it, equaling 18+ tracks total, and also being comparable to previous albums WITH deluxe editions AND iTunes/Best Buy exclusives in terms of track counts.

I STILL haven't listened to half of these when I know I REALLY need to...so I voted for Em because he's the one I've listened to and really enjoyed so far from January.
