Please report back with thoughts, interested to hear a fresh take

just started 1000 painful stings and the whole album has been incredible.  it's dense, I'll need more spins for sure, but first impressions are technical, bouncy, crushing at times, vocals are next level (are there two vocalists? who evers doing the highs is an angel, gives me CTtS vibes for some reason).  yeah, casually listening it's great, just catchy enough.  but I think it'll really click tonight when I have a chance to sit down and immerse myself.  and the fact that I actually want to do that tells me I'll keep this in my rotation for a while.  I can catch just enough of the cleans to know there's some depth here. some progression, but it works on a surface level too thanks to the drumming and tilted chugs.

    I get the hype

  2. agreed, this is uninteresting and sounds uninspired.  like a half hearted attempt at supporting the cause to either cash in or appease... somebody idk who was asking for this.

and if it is sincere, guess they just dropped the ball.  all the passion from the original is completely missing

  3. Emmure gets a lot of shit for being memey and I've never liked their music, but I do respect that they've only gotten more abrasive over the years instead of transitioning into dad metal or something like parkway drive

  4. well goddamn Tyler sounds amazing on this, some of my favorite Tyler songs are the acoustic Woe songs, so not surprised, but he really went all out on a few of these songs.

and the guitarist is something else, the way he translates these songs acoustically, it's intricate and catchy, I didn't even know this was coming out but it's a highlight of the year for me so far.

  5. I think this is rodys best writing some kezia, I assume he's writing the lyrics here?... I know he didn't start writing until scurrilous.. but everything here feels so epic and catchy, it's been stealing the spotlight for me.  usually I listen to protest for the guitar work, but I'm having a hard time focusing haha

@967-EVIL yeah I get that a lot when I rec these guys.  I've always loved how voice but I can see how it could be grating.  I think he quit using pitch correct a few albums back, sound pretty good considering

No. I've listened to everything these guys have ever done. Fortress happens to be my favorite. Will check this out then.

in that case I'd say it reminds me more if a kid between volition and scurrilous, with a hint of kezia's punk vibe
