I really tried my best to like this. I listened to again 10+ times, and it still sucks. Structurally, this is exactly what I was hoping their new material wasn't going to sound like and I absolutely hate it. RIP to one of my favorite bands of all-time? I guess I will have to wait and see. However, if this album is anything like this, it's literally going to take me weeks of coping to get over it; with the potential of even having to go see a counselor.

@SavageWraith @IKeepForgettingMyShit I really can't stress how much I appreciate hearing that. I know you don't know me on a personal level, but any kind of support like that from anybody is an amazing thing to hear, especially where we live in a world where people are segregated by everything. Thank you both again for reaching out. Much love.

@IKeepForgettingMyShit Thanks for clearing that up, man. It just seemed like a direct attack at me, so I appreciate you reaching out. It also hit home for me since my older brother has a serious addiction with crack cocaine and he isn't in a very good place right now. I may have let my emotions get the best of me. Cheers, mate. Enjoy the rest of your night.

This sounds pretty decent -- although, I personally wish it was a tad heavier and more melodic. This album is the most anticipated album release for me post-2010. Underoath is my favorite post-hardcore band of all-time. While they did dabble with some industry-changing screamo (They're Only Chasing Safety) for one album, and other less-important genres leading to their success, I feel like "Define The Great Line" was some of their most mature content to date. Sadly, that was 12 years ago. They did, however, follow up with "Lost In The Sound Of Separation"; which I thought fell just short of the complexity of that found in "Define The Great Line". Of course this is just a matter of opinion, but it appears that this new sound is putting them somewhere in between "Lost In The Sound Of Separation" and "Disambiguation", with "Disambiguation" being some of their most underwhelming material in the post-DTGL era. TL;DR version: The new single sounds "okay", but I don't have high expectations for their new album, as much as I am looking forward to it more than anything.
