This is easily my disappointment of the year. Not one song on this album really stuck out to me, even on multiple listens. Maybe I am doing too much comparing to their previous efforts but it definitely sounds like a step back musically. The instruments are basic and predictable compared to prior albums. I suppose if you isolated this as a "debut" it may be passable but considering BFMV decorated history, this falls waaaay short. I hate to say it but "Temper, Temper " is quite superior and I cannot for the life of me understand why they made this decision after the course correction that was "Venom" Dammit!

Holy hell Mark! Great album. The most balanced and well-written effort. Do I dare say it may be on par with his Alter Bridge work?

Noted. But I am sure you realize this is relative. My comparison was in contrast to what I believe what was their best two albums and when you consider that the results are glaring imo. Not to say this album is a loss, it just didn't hit me like the previously mentioned.

My post from another forum. After a few listens I must say that it is an improvement over their past two releases but still rather underwhelming. There just isn't that feeling of "Wow" that they captured on albums such as "The Sound Of Madness" and "Leave A Whisper". Most songs are rather forgettable. It almost seems that their career path is an exact parallel to In This Moment. Blow us away early and disappoint us late. I still hold hope that they will have a Godsmack esque resurgence at some point. And in reference to Godsmack, "When Legends Rise" is how you do it.

This is easily the best release this year. Wow!! They released a well crafted and well thought out album.

Fantastic album! With that said I have one question, am I the only one that hears a production drop in "Torn In Two"? It doesn't seem to hit quite as hard as the rest the album, at least when it comes to the bass on a good sound system.
