  1. That's awesome, loved reading through his responses. Gets into Galleons and Valiant Hearts, influences, artists he'd like to work with, answers lots of questions, very open about the process and stuff he's thinking about going forward. Makes me love his bands even more. I like that he agrees Anon was a step back for Hands Like Houses.
  2. Mr. Strawberry, Electric Emotions, Awkward Androids, He Who Swallowed A Fallen Star (remaster)... those are probably my stand outs from Dream Machines. Definitely feel the DGD vibes (hell, right down to the Strawberries )... maybe a little bit of DBM1 and Happiness. There are some great tunes on Metropolis. Hard to pick out a few so far, I think it's just gonna have to grow on me. I like the creativity, lyrics are eyebrow raising at times. Lemonade in particular.
  3. Interested to hear this, thanks for sharing! Didn't Ben fire a bunch of band members for putting out that 'best of' album without his consent a while back? Then he turns around and signs off on something like this, (by all accounts) unmemorable with pretty questionable creative decisions and song choices? As a big fan of the band, I'm sure it'll be an interesting listen but I'm with some of you that a proper, energetic acoustic album with a little more variety from their discography would've been awesome. Missed opportunity.
  4. 100 might be a little bit of an exaggeration. But there's probably 6 or so songs from Odyssey I've had solidly in my rotation since it came out, and I listen to a lot of music between my office at work, my office at home, and driving to and from. As far as Galleons goes, I feel like I enjoy Dream Machines more than Metropolis so far. Feels like they cranked up the goofiness a little more this time, which is losing me a little bit off the bat. Probably be 3-4 songs from each album that end up being keepers.
  5. I LOVED the new Valiant Hearts album but to be honest, after the 100th listen I kinda agree with this. There's something a bit spicier with Galleons. Not positive if it's better yet, or just different.
  6. Valiant Hearts recent release got me on board with the singer (and whatever bandmates these groups share). So Galleons is obviously the next step. Had some trouble getting into Dream Machines but it's been growing on me hard the last few weeks. Awesome time for this one to come out, gonna get some spins tonight/this weekend. Thanks for sharing!
  7. Thanks for posting! Love this site, find a lot of music I wouldn't normally think of/listen to (though Halsey is probably more of a household name than I realize ). Lots of cool songs here, for whatever reason 'Still Learning' is the only one that stuck with me at the moment. Super catchy mellow song, an easy listen. Feel like I'm picking the less popular songs from here but I like 'Ashley' too, great chorus. The spoken part at the end is cheesy af though. I'm sure the other songs will quickly grow on me.
  8. Not sure how I feel about those weird rap segue's, but I like the dudes voice and the general vibe of the song otherwise.
  9. Randomly spotted this looking through top 10's, some great tunes here. Have had Cold, Spirit, Don't Need You Now and I Think It Isn't Fair on repeat for days.
  10. Had this playing in the background playing games... and the never-ending looping noises were a bit annoying, but the parts that actually had a beat, melody and/or vocals were pretty good.
  11. Quarter Past Midnight is a great tune though, like one their best songs.
  12. Yeah... We Are Not Alone was probably the last album to really stretch out lyrically, and Phobia kinda started the formula they're in now... but from Dear Agony onward the lyrics have been pretty simple and shamelessly recycled. Love Breaking Benjamin but it's getting a little tiring at this point... had a lot of trouble getting into Ember because of it. Thankfully the lyrics usually aren't terrible from an angsty teen/still somewhat angsty adult perspective, or at least Burnley has a way of still making them sound genuine. I'm honestly not sure how their music would sound if the lyrical content shifted dramatically so I dunno. Anywho... cool song. This mix of BB and Cold gives the song kind of a plodding direction-less vibe that I'm not in love with, but it still sounds pretty good.
  13. After running through it a few times... So Heavy I Fell Through the Earth, Delete Forever, IDORU... are my favorites. Honorable mention to Violence, You'll miss me when I'm not around, New Gods. The rest haven't really struck a chord with me yet but there's always time. Good stuff.
  14. So Heavy I Fell Through The Earth is a bop, I'm digging this. Never heard of Grimes, dunno how/why it leaked so early or if it's the final mix... but I'mma grab it anyways and see how it is. Thanks for sharing!
  15. Silverstein is great, dunno if I'll grab this one though. Any significance to the 15 in the name? Was it recorded in 2015, 15th anniversary of some sort maybe? Or are they just being clever?
  16. This deserves another post. Alaska is IMMENSE! I love everything about it. Probably my favorite song on the album, which is saying something because I love the whole darn thing.
  17. Awesome, I loved the singles I've heard from this. Thanks for sharing!
  18. Definitely enjoying this! Never heard of this band before so I'm digging through their music and man, a lot of solid songs out there. The best thing is when you find a new group to listen to and a new album is only a few days away.
  19. I was all in on these guys up to Of Beauty and Rage. Which was a great album, but don't think I listened to a single song on Gone for whatever reason (or didn't listen to any more than once). The singles they've put out since have been cool though, and that Fuel cover was great. Maybe take a closer look when the next LP comes around. Thanks for sharing!
  20. Literally burst out laughing when I scrolled down and saw Meme King, then looked back up at his face. Thanks for that.
  21. Not sure if this is a good thing or not, but finally getting around to listening to this and it feels like a great album to listen to at work. Accessible enough to still enjoy it just dipping in and out as it plays, but enough depth/slow burn that I'd probably spin the whole thing a few times during the day and keep picking up new interesting things each time. Feels like it'd get a little tiring if I tried to really focus on it the full length, but not simple enough to be pure background noise.
  22. I'm new to this stuff... doing some research I'm not sure if this is some sort of joke/parody band... I guess one of the guys behind it is some Youtube personality? That aside, the embedded song is pretty good. Think I'm gonna give the album a shot. Thanks for sharing!
  23. Keep thinking I'm gonna get tired of these guys, but this is pretty good.
  24. Hot damn... love this guy. Didn't know there was another album on the way. Didn't even know where were new singles back in June. Guess I got some catching up to do. Thanks!
