I think it’s a great song! So they sound a little more “post-hardcore” than “metalcore” in this one, who cares! The bridge (breakdown) wasn’t as “in your face” as maybe we’re used to, and the mix, to me, seemed like it needed a little more treble at times, but I think it’s a great addition to their catalogue. And for people who say they (and their riffs) are starting to sound the same, so what! Every band should have their own signature sound that identifies who they are. A Day To Remember had virtually the same exact breakdown (with the exception of the timing) in every song, and no one ever complained. I think people overanalyze too much. Just listen and enjoy!

The only thing getting older has done to me is; given me a more vast appreciation for music, and has allowed me to be more open to some genres I might not have even given a chance when I was younger. While I’m partial, these days, to artists like; The Menzingers, Manchester Orchestra, Brian Fallon and Owen, I still really dig heavier bands such as; Polaris, August Burns Red and In Hearts Wake (to name a few), and everything in between.

Damn! This is great stuff! “This Ends Now” gave me immediate Pulse Ultra vibes (though a little heavier), which is a good thing. If you guys haven’t ever heard of Pulse Ultra, definitely check out their album “Headspace”. It’s back from 2002, but they were way ahead of their time. Still to this day, one of my favorites.
