Never understood the hype behind this band. Probably never will

This is great, but not a masterpiece nor as good as HISD, very cool and varied songwriting, still fairly short and some songs aren't THAT great, hell I think Feel Nothing is overrated as fuck and one of the weaker tracks in the album.
Yeah how dare someone have differing opinions!

Is the last song technically not new?

I like me a little bit of ISS every so often, everything else in that list I agree with you. Used to love the first two SWS albums back in high school tho

Probably one of the most accurate statements in this entire thread and maybe why I can’t get in to these guys: because it all sounds the same to me with some exceptions

Band’s always bored me or just had this underwhelming feeling to them.
Throughout their entire discography are only a handful of songs I can come back and listen to.

Very slightly off topic; but does anyone have the single artwork they’ve been using for the Spotify previews of whatever? Or have a way to rip it? I prefer that art to the actual album art
anywho, not gonna listen to this. Wanna go into this as blind as I can

So then what would you consider this?

Out of curiosity, what is it about his vocals that you don’t like?

I definitely expected a better first reaction but after seeing back to me on the tracklist my hopes went down a little. Hopefully the record will grow on me like CW did. Every record i hope they could somehow recapture the spirit of the self titled record. Having a sequel to a song on that record is quite a bold risk. I dont think it payed off as that song isnt even close to the original. Im starting to really believe Shaley was the extra special something of this band. I definitely dig dayshell but i dont think either band is as strong as the OG OMAM.
The “spirit” of the first album can never be redone. This band is beyond stagnant now

Also, Hoplessly Hopeful is actually pretty alright. So kick dirt dweebs.
Exactly. There’s been so much heat this year that this just kinda falls to the wayside in comparison.

That line single handedly saved the entire album. No joke.

Yeah this is definitely just okay. Definitely not some spectacular return to form that most fans were trying to hope for. Not even sure why any one would expect that at this point.
Danny’s voice is solid. Always loved it. So no issues there. There are some pretty good choruses too. Everything else is bland, uninspired radio rock instrumentation. Nothing is all that daring or innovative. Which, if they were shooting for that, then hey, they definitely succeeded.
I’m sure this’ll be a hit for radio play and they’ll be getting even more of that $$$
Songs that stood out on this ok album: Rise Up, Under Denver, Eve
Best song: the bonus track

Of Mice & Mediocre strikes again with another lifeless, dull radio rock anthem song

Greetings all, back again with two more requests if anyone would like to help. Would certainly be appreciated. :]
First is: Jaw Breaker - Jaw Breaker (EP):
https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/jaw-breaker-ep/1269781681
Second is: Pig Destroyer - Terrifyer:
https://pigdestroyer.bandcamp.com/album/terrifyer
https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/terrifyer/68290017
Would prefer higher quality files but as always, beggars can’t be choosers.

thanks again

The radio rock is strong with this one.
Think it’s finally time to hang it up with this band. Never thought I’d say that but here we are. Haven’t liked anything since Austin left and Cold World wasn’t doing me any favors. Shame because they were my favorite band for like 5 years.
Meh.
