I’m right there with you. Spiritbox have been completely refreshing to the genre ever since their first EP. I’m glad IWABO died so that we could get this band. 

Honestly? One of my absolute favorite parts of this album is Sky’s vocals on track 1. If he did vocals for an entire album I’d nut 

Unpopular opinion: This song was just okay.
 

Didn’t blow my socks off or anything like the last one. Idk, “CG” just kinda feels soul less to me now. Or it’s like something is missing from their music. You could easily put this song somewhere on Eternal Nightmare and it would work. Their song writing style and production comes off as very samey and campy to me. I’m also probably the only one who wishes Tom was still in LS but oh well.

I think I still have a hard time calling this Chelsea Grin 😔 the vibe just ain’t the same since Tom came into the fold. However, I am curious to see how a new album with his full input would sound. 

I’ve never been a fan of Emmure but this album might change that. I didn’t really go in with any expectations and I feel like the album was decent on first listen. Definitely will have to give this more spins. 

Pretty disappointed. This album kinda struck me as pretty average and a bit generic? I feel like this band is capable of so much more but this feels like it could be random deathcore band #69’s album, not AC.

Definitely not this. Actual progressive deathcore is something more along the lines of Exoplanet by The Contortionist. That album is God tier.  

Idk if you want to put it in your post @967-EVIL, but some people may not know that Young Mountain has Hance Alligood in the band (former WIM and Favorite Weapon singer) and that The Villa is Michael Bohn’s new band. Just a suggestion!

When I saw them in November, they played Primal Directive and Flourish. No Intrinsic music, sadly. 

Finally listened to this today after the 320 dropped. 

Not entirely sure where I stand with it yet. Definitely feels a lot different than their previous efforts, but not necessarily in a bad way. I can see where people are coming from with their comments about how there’s more of an industrialized and electronic feel to the album. But I think that that works very well with the overall tone. I definitely need to read the lyrics for this because that’s where a good amount of the substance lies within this particular project. 

So, for my off the cuff, literal first listen, subject to change ranking of albums Marcus has been on, I’d say my ranking currently stands at Mesmer being my favorite, then Alien, then Node (which I still don’t think has totally clicked for me yet unfortunately).
