  1. I have no nostalgic connection to this album or band. I loved Sweet Blasphemy, but this doesn't do anything for me. I think the screams are terrible, the verses sound like Andy didn't care, and the chorus is just alright. The instrumentals are 5/5, but Andy's vocals are boring and nothing special, especially the screams.

  2. Let me know what yours are. You can include their stuff with Jonny and Kurt, I haven't personally heard them yet. I just got into them when Afterburner came out.

Acceptance Speech - Death of the Robot with Human Hair

I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. Everything about it just hooks me in. Tilian is quickly becoming one of my favorite vocalists of all time and this song is part of the reason for that. The chorus is among my favorite things I've heard from DGD, and to follow that beautiful slow sequence, with Jon, Will, and Matt absolutely assaulting you with nearly two minutes of heavy guitars, incredible drums, and Jon's incredible screams is just amazing. I'm not sure who else has vocals on the song, singing "make this mother fucker, holy." But I really like his parts. When the instruments fade out and it becomes this digital dreamscape with Tilian repeating the chorus, it's incredibly relaxing and I love everything about it. This song is a masterpiece in my opinion.

Instant Gratification - We Own The Night

This album was REALLY tough to pick a favorite off of. There's just so many songs that are great for so many different reasons, but We Own The Night has Tilian front and center, and I can't help but love every second of it. The chorus is legendary amongst their fans, for Tilian's incredible vocal ability, and Jon just screaming up a storm behind him. I love that the song gets right to the point with no break throughout. It's hectic in all the right ways, and it keeps your attention that entire time. The second verse is bouncy and really fun to sing along to, leading directly into the chorus again, which, as I said, is legendary. But, then the song switches it up. The instrumental is in full force here, and Tilian belts out and sounds amazing, as usual. One of my favorite vocal performances ever.

Mothership - Betrayed by the Game

Mothership is my favorite DGD album that I've heard, so naturally, picking a single song was insanely difficult. As much as I love songs like Chucky Vs. The Giant Tortoise, Chocolate Jackalope, Exposed, Frozen One, and Deception, this song takes the crown for me. This song is DGD working together perfectly. Every aspect of it is so well refined and not a single member slacks in any capacity. I love the riff that follows Tilian's lines, and as much as I absolutely adore Tilian's vocals on this track, Will and Matt shine just as much. the instrumental is simpler than most other DGD songs, but keeping it simple can really help a song stand out. I find this song to be cathartic, and immensely relaxing. I can't give the band enough credit for this song, I don't know how I went so long without listening to them before this year.

Artificial Selection - Son of Robot

This one was actually pretty easy for me. Don't get me wrong, Artificial Selection is a great album, but it's opening track is also it's best in my opinion. From the calm opening riff, exploding into a massive verse from Jon, into another calming moment with the pre-chorus, where Tilian serenades with beautiful vocals as always. Then comes the chorus, where Tilian straight up flexes his vocal talents. I fucking love the chorus in this song so much, it's just perfect. There's really nothing else to say about it, it's just great. In fact, the whole song is so well done, it has such good pacing, the nearly four minute runtime flies by in what feels like 30 seconds. But once it's over, you immediately go back. This band is addicting and I am seriously all in.

    Afterburner - HEYY...no wait, Prisoner

I almost went with Night Sway or Lyrics Lie for this one, but I couldn't help but go with Prisoner, the first DGD song i ever heard. Right off the bat, I knew I was in for something special. That fucking opening riff is so fucking weird, but funky, and so catchy. Then, Tilian once again shows us how great he is, and Jon screams on a couch, and then that chorus hits. What a fucking event. It's so simple, but everything about it works so well. After the chorus, the main riff is then altered to make it somehow, even more funky and amazing, along with Jon screaming on a couch again. The chorus hits again and is just as powerful as it was the first time, but it's extended with Jon showing us why he's a bad ass. The song then calms down a bit, with Tilian singing over a quieter version of the opening riff where the bass also shines, then it picks up with Tilian screaming, transitioning into one of the best parts of the song. Everyone just goes insane, Will starts playing that opening riff again, Matt plays along with him, and Jon goes berserk, screaming some insane lyrics. The song ends with this crazy heavy,  djent-like amalgamation of the entire song up to this point. My only complaint is I wish that ending went on a little longer, it's just so good and then it cuts off before it really gets started. Other than that one little complaint, I love everything about this song. I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to this band, and I haven't stopped listening to it since I first heard it.

  3. That was so fucking boring. It's every single emo rap album ever written, but he died so it's a 10/10 right? Not a single song is interesting or does anything other than use the same triplets, and have Juice whining about how sad he is. I have nothing against the guy but he's really nothing interesting and he's not a great singer

  4. There's nothing inherently wrong with this album, I'm just really disappointed after two years, this is all we got. I really just don't care about digital instrumentals that sound like LPU demos. Fine and Open Door are great songs too, and mislead me into believing we were getting an actual album with vocals, but no, we get this instead.

first impressions make a lot of impact, and for a band of this size artwork this bad comes off as careless and lazy when it's so easy to get good artwork done nowadays

I simply don't see the artwork as anything other than artwork. If it's that much of a deciding factor for some people that's cool, but it doesn't matter to me personally. I definitely notice if it's good or bad but again it doesn't matter enough to me to decide whether or not I'm gonna give it a listen

  6. Really fantastic acoustic album. This is how you honor your own legacy and put out something for the fans, not whatever Breaking Benjamin decided to do earlier this year. Only thing I didn't care for was Everything Breaks. Lost interest in that song halfway through
