  1. This is the first time I've ever heard of Purity Ring, and I loveeeeeee this.
  2. I don't really think it was an issue with how it was ripped, because like I said, I had the same issue with TDWP and Royal Coda (non-vinyl rips as far as I know). It's not a big deal because it's easy to work around (+ it's free and I'm not gonna cry because I have to listen to it at 260 instead lol), I was just trying to see if it was happening to anyone else.
  3. Does anybody using iTunes (PC or Mac) or the new Music app on Mac have a problem with Cherish, Ocean of Another, and Nothing Left to Love cutting off early?... It's not an issue with the file because it plays in VLC fine and will play through if I convert it to VBR. Had the same problem with the new Royal Coda song and Waves of Youth on TDWP. Anyway, I like this album, but I can see why people think their music sounds very same-y (because it is to me too). I like a lot of songs on here, and I REALLY love the closer. Would give this a 8/10.
  4. I'm on my second listen through and I can say that I actually really like this album. There's a couple tracks here that I don't personally care for (I don't think Flexing will ever grow on me and I will probably skip Your Sake most of the time although its not a bad song), but I enjoy everything else. Super bouncy album, I see it as an evolution of their sound from Headspace, and I think it works for them. Vocals might not be heavy, but the guitar and bass tones on this album are beautiful. Will definitely try and catch them when they come to town.
  5. His voice is nice. I actually wouldn't mind if he sang more. I could picture his voice fitting in nicely on parts where Michael sang on Headspace.
  6. No, I don't feel like a boss. It just wasn't worth listening to the rest to me personally, and I didn't even realize it was 2:20. I'll delete it when the album comes out too, it's just not for me. I don't see why me saying I deleted the song bothered you enough to make a sarcastic response, lol.
  7. She’s not a gf (she’s dating someone but none of them), I remember back before they finished recording the album they were asking if anyone was or knew a good female vocalist. It was a story on Instagram. I looked her up on Instagram though, she’s mutuals with Rory and it sounds like her (she has videos of her singing).
  8. I love this album. I wish there were more songs along the lines of Crooked Soul but enjoy everything. My favorites right now are Crooked Soul, Drunk, The Color Black, and Crash and Burn.
  9. What the fuck is this Listened to a minute and a half and deleted.
  10. I've never really listened to Blink in general (I like a song here and there, not overly familiar with their discography though), but I think this album is pretty good. I remember listening to California when it came out and didn't particularly care for it, but there's definitely a few songs that I would consistently listen to on here. I really like Heaven, Black Rain, and No Heart To Speak Of.
  11. Fuck, I didn't realize this was going to be an EP, I thought it was going to be a full album. EDIT: Just started the first track, already massive.
  12. I'm kinda in a weird place with this album because I like certain aspects of a lot of these songs (cleans sound good, some really good instrumental moments), but then there are also things that I don't particularly care for (i.e. the super nu-metal or industrial parts of songs like that part in Jinn at around 2:50 which threw me way off, basically all of Eclipse). Also Freefall sounds kinda Architects-y. It was the first song on the album to make me go, "Wow, I really like this." I think Rift works well with Marcus's vocals as well. Will have to spend more time with this album, I could see it growing on me.
  13. I saw that they were dropping a new video tomorrow on Rory's story and immediately ran here to see if anyone in the chatbox was talking about this only to be blessed with this. I love Dayseeker so much. Also I agree with you @desk, this sounds slightly proggier/djent-ier compared the rest of their discography. Can't wait to hear the rest of their new stuff (although I don't expect it all to go hard like this since Rory said their new album was going to be more melodic on Insta live before).
  14. This album really hits ALL the right spots for me on first listen. My favorite songs on this are the more melodic songs: Reptile, Garden In the Bones, It's Only Smiles, and Satellites. I enjoyed everything though. Reptile scalped me within the first minute, and then made me feel like I was having an out of body experience when it hit 9:00. It's definitely up there on the list of my favorite Periphery songs. Can't wait to see them headlining for this album.
  15. I’m actually at SwanFest to see Periphery right now so I can’t listen to this until I get home.
  16. The only song on this album that'll probably keep listening to is Bow Down. Does anyone else get a slight Linkin Park - Heavy vibe from Every Time I Leave?... I think it's the girl giving me that vibe.
  17. Honestly, not as bad as I thought it was going to be. There's kinda a lot of weak tracks (or tracks that just don't hit for me), but I don't really hate anything. Definitely have some catchy stuff on this album.
  18. I'm really liking/loving this album... my favorite track is actually an interlude, How to Draw / Petrichor. There's just something about it that really stands out. I guess I'll have to check out the rest of their music, even if this is different stylistically compared to their prior stuff.
  19. Doomsday sounds really weird without the buildup in the beginning. It sounds like it starts too abruptly.
  20. Or maybe people just have different opinions?... It's not exactly like their other music is unpopular on here... There are definitely some major elements that stand out as significantly different on this album compared to their other albums. And from what I see, only 3 people in the comments said they didn't like Silent Planet until this album. Hardly enough to make such a sweeping generalization that "a bunch of [people] just read" positive comments and "have to agree for no discernible reason."
  21. This album is really a masterpiece. I love the overall ambience. I've liked their other albums, but this album really hit me like a ton of bricks. I'd love to see them live, but the Pomona date isn't close enough to me.
