I just grabbed this one off Soulseek earlier today after a recc from a buddy, can't say there's anyone out there that sounds anything like this band (to be fair, I have not heard Cheeto's Magazine). I thought your description was as close to accurate as we're gonna get. Great upload, be sure to check it out everyone!

Check out Cheeto's Magazine's album Amazingous. It's a really fun listen, very nice light-hearted goofy prog.

The only band on Arising Empire I enjoy is Any Given Day.

You listen to any other band on them, you've listened to them all is what I feel. Then again, I'm not super into core so take this opinion with a grain of salt.

Not too keen on AGD but they're alright. Have you listened to Aviana's new album? It's pretty nice. Not super unique but executed really well imo.

Tbh this record label is giving me Rise Records vibes from back in the day with all the post hardcore / metalcore bands. Guess that's expected since its an subsidiary of Sharptone. Off that label I've found Alazka, Imminence, Novelists, Our Mirage and I think While She Sleeps is on there now. Only one I had on repeat for a while was Alazka

But after listening to this album, the cleans and intrumentals are good. Screaming is kind of bleh. I mean, I'm not gonna listen to it on repeat but what I listened to sounds alright. Like an album I'll randomly play while grinding some video game in the near future.

But that's the thing, if it's a metalcore or post-hardcore album and it's just alright, well... it's not really worth my time, or anyone else's time that thinks the same. Nowadays to be a good metalcore or post-hardcore band you need to stand out at least a little, if you're just okay then you'll be lost in a sea of mediocre bands. I never said it was bad either (not saying you said I did), just boring, average, mediocre, done-before.

  5. Another boring core band on Arising Empire, who would've guessed. Only good band they've had recently is Aviana.

EDIT: I figured I'd get downvoted, but I'm genuinely curious when asking this: what do you guys that like this band like about them? I hear no redeeming qualities. They're not bad, just bland, to me. Can you tell me why I'm wrong?

I might've over exaggerated them.  Their most recent album was incredibly boring (to me) and might as well have been the same song over and over.  Plus the riff to Make America Hate Again is the exact same riff pretty much to Puppet Master.  It was just more of the same stuff, only slightly less interesting. I just put TAIM for the lack of recent genericore obsessions on the site coming to mind.

Yeah while I liked their newest album, I will concede that it is very samey. I did really enjoy Dear Desolation two years ago though, so it makes sense that I'd like the new album. Only song I didn't really like was Death Squad Anthem.

You already know this, but people here absolutely eat up the generic and objectively bad -core here (ala AA, WW, TAIM, etc...) and when a -core band actually writes a unique and interesting song because y'know, they actually mature and give a shit about the music, it is nothing but shit to those people lolol.

And before someone says it, yes, music can very much be objective as well as being subjective.

I don't see how TAIM is objectively bad, they have consistently good musicianship and songwriting for a deathcore band. They're not the best in the world but in deathcore, they're at the top. Otherwise yeah, I agree about the other two you listed.

Oh snap. Just had a bit of a dig on Facebook...it seems that it’s the vocalist I was praising in my previous post that they’ve written it about. I didn’t know...that’s awful.

How unfortunate. He's such a good vocalist, I like him for the same reasons you do. If you like that type of thing I'd suggest checking out the band Others By No One.
