  1. Album was pushed back from August 24th to September, I'm hoping it's so they can do more (actually decent) promo for it
  2. Why do I feel like it's too soon for another album? Did LYR era even happen? Everything Is Fine felt very youthful (?), super cliche lyrics for a band who are hitting their 30s. Not sure about it. But this one is better; Birthday > EIF.
  3. All of those bands you listed, they've said at some point were inspiration for them. First album was All Time Low? They literally wrote with Alex Gaskarth and wrote/produced with John Feldmann. Second album was Green Day/My Chem? They had been working non-stop and were full of angst, took those feelings back to John Feldmann and Mike Green and made something with more guitars, more drums, more emo everywhere. This was was also pretty rushed. Third album is twenty one pilots? Some of the songs were written with Mike Elizondo. They want to be on the radio. They have those high hopes, they're with a major record label, they want to reach as many people as they can, is that a crime? For some reason I love that your favourite is the first one though
  4. The best part about this band all being songwriters is that each album has 16-20 fcking fantastic songs. Quality AND quantity. I'm also really glad they chose to not work with Feldmann this time. It's different, good different. Throw all your preconceptions out the window and give this a listen.
  5. Album comes out in ~12 hours, date was changed from the 22nd to the 15th, gonna be so good.
  6. But... LYR is good, especially when you listen to it front to back. This song isn't that great.
  7. It sounds like it belongs on a movie soundtrack, the lyrics seem a little, lame? Cliche? I wouldn't say it belongs on Last Young Renegade.
  8. The harmonies in the chorus are so good. Holy crap.
  9. if ten million EPs were finally released as one album uhh I mean... if ten million fireflies... ♪
  10. "You Be The Anchor That Keeps My Feet On The Ground, I'll Be The Wings That Keep Your Heart In The Clouds" is still their longest song title I'm pretty sure
  11. But they're not claiming to be pop punk anymore. Actually- did they ever explicitly say they were, or is that just what everyone on this forum thinks of them? They didn't work with John Feldmann on this album haha This interview is from February and only one new song was out at the time, but from the first question, they talk about their sound changing, being now in their 20s and it being a "natural progression" away from their first two albums.
  12. Yep, written and produced with John Feldmann and Mark Hoppus. The oh's are a dead giveaway. It's no wonder you're all comparing to 5 Seconds of Summer and All Time Low lol. The song's not terrible, but not what their punk-lover fans want I guess?
  13. Yeah okay, there's a few good songs. Maybe, like Limitless, it's the lyrics that aren't really getting to me?
  14. They make it sound like one of their own songs, though. Pretty good cover imo
  15. 5SOS have released 6 songs that were literally written with Alex Gaskarth, so maybe that's why they sound similar? I don't know what songs of theirs you've listened to so whatever. A lot of these new bands are using social media to garner younger fans; they're replying, interacting, girls freak out, and think "omg I love this band, they replied to me one time" and they don't really care about the quality of their music. Feels like record labels and producers are going for quantity, not quality, atm.
  16. This is why I'm starting to dislike John's work. He and Ashton from 5SOS are working together with another Australian band, The Faim (formerly Small Town Heroes) and I'm dreading that too now
  17. Written with John Feldmann, his two guys Matt and Zakk, and two of the guys from 5 Seconds of Summer. It's decent because everyone knows how to write a pop/punk/rock song, but eh, I won't remember it when I wake up.
  18. Is this a full album of those electronic remixes or whatever that came up on my Spotify recently? Pass.
  19. Production is decent because of John Feldmann and crew As for the lyrics...... hmm, no
  20. Is no longer. FTFY I don't mind the sound, it's pop, but decent. Could listen to it again if they had better lyrics. I am in my 20s, so mentions of school, fuckboiis, and unrequited crushes made me gag
  21. Listening to it a few times, I find Lynn's lyrics hard to hear with the drum beat. Might just be my EQ settings though Definitely liking this more than Heaven though!
