For first impressions though, A Reason to Live and No Gimbus both feel like a mash-up of The Mechanical Hand and Desperate Living. I don't think the studio version of A Reason to Live has as much kick to it as recordings of the live version did. Might just be me, but I think maybe the mixing feels off? Still pretty good though. No Gimbus has a pretty cool intro, but I don't like the rest of the song as much. March of the Pigs is short and weird, but it's definitely the most unique of the 3, and it's probably my favorite right now.
Anyway, I hope this is just a taste of what's to come. Would be pretty disappointing for them to drop this and then stop making music again for another indeterminate amount of time.
march of the pigs is a Nine Inch Nails cover.
Edit: A butchering as well.

copycat killer EP literally came out 5 days ago, then the Iris cover, and then this EP in the same week, all in the same year as one of the best albums ever. How ungrateful can you possibly be?

Mike Shinoda has become one of my least favorite people. This butchering of one of the greatest songs of all time is no exception.

High Voltage has 2 different versions though, Step Up is exactly the same on disc 3 and 4. Also I can't be the only one that thinks it's kind of ridiculous to release 30 second drum loops and call them demos

Did they realize they put Step Up on it twice lol

It's wonderful. Better than I expected. Feel bad for the early leak but I'll slap the preorder.

Static-X and FF influence is real. They're peaking with this one

ah yes, the greatest band of all time continues their reign of godliness

It sounds noticeably different..
I'm actually slightly concerned that no one else can hear it. It's particularly noticeable in the vocals but everything is way less muddy. It's actually interesting because in certain parts it actually makes flaws in the singing more obvious. Definitely an improvement overall though.

Masterpiece. It's a true masterpiece. The end. Genre defining and boundary breaking. It will shape music heavily for the next few years and has inspired the fuck out of me. They deserve every bit of success coming their way.

what's up with the amount of people saying they never liked Silent Planet until now lol? This is their best work to date but I mean the other 2 albums are also amazing and not far off from this stuff.. It's not like they reinvented their sound completely or something. It's like 2 people comment something and a bunch of you just read it and something clicks in your brain that you have to agree for no discernible reason.

what the fuck is up with this album? Did these guys just go down a drug ridden hole and lose their minds? Most of these songs don't hit the 3 minute mark nvm even hitting the 2 minute mark it's like a collection of jumbled random ideas that never go anywhere. This could've been such a good album I just don't even get what the hell they were going for. Hard to even feel bad about it leaking so early when there's barely even any effort in this thing. Fare thee well Say Anything.

It's insane that this is the same band that made Fail you Again.
I usually can find admiration in an artist moving into a new style, even if it's not my thing, but this is just...... woof.
