The Good, the Bad & the Queen - Merrie Land (2018)

their singles used to be stronger. this album is full of decent songs, but nothing here is strong. best song is "not the way it was" with a more melodic chorus. only songs i'm deleting are "the what have we done?" and "daggers," which is surprising since i usually only keep about 3-5 songs. pretty much every song is enjoyable but could've been better with a better chorus

waited until 320 was out, and wow these comments dont lie. every song has generic lyrics that belong in boy band rock radio. empty, meaningless cliches just as filler. complete waste of time. zero effort. the old me and live another day were decent, rest is absolute shameful. memphis may meet my garbage

overall an enjoyable listen. the strengths here are the instrumentals. no old school muse bangers, but this is tight. also dig the ready player one album art style good: thought contagion, algorithm, the dark side, pressure really like the buildup for algorithm also, pressure's chorus riff sounds like elle king- ex's and oh's

new to them. sometimes i think they have potential, other times i question why the fuck i'm listening to this. "two wrongs no rights" was horrible and an embarrassing attempt at leaving their post-hardcore sound for some rap-oriented shit. lyrics sound like emo/rap high school lyrics that never deserved recording

this should be quality. even tho they're mainstream they make solid music Edit: here's the verdict Good: Natural Decent: boomerang, cool out, bad liar, west coast, zero, bullet in a gun, birds "Stuck" rips off "Days Go By" in a pretty direct way with the chorus. took me a minute but that's def the song Overall a decent album. but nothing impressive. natural will be in the shuffle mix

overall i'm not really a fan of this album, which isn't surprising because their last album felt the same. this is a little better. the new eternity is a decent song and the strongest track here. definitely feels like overblown hype decent: the new eternity, northern fires, visible unseen, firstborn, the anatomy of time
