  1. Just listened to their previous EP, it was surprisingly good just needed a bit more tightening on the vocals. From this song, this LP seems promising.
  2. It's interesting, not a huge fan. But I say that every single they release and then end up listening to the album on repeat.
  3. It's totally bandwagoning off the current trends, but I'm totally down for it.
  4. Interesting..a bit too rough around the edges, but I can see this turning into something really good. Another aivi & surasshu or something.
  5. Capstan came out of nowhere for me, pleasant surprise.
  6. Man it's so hard to get upset with him leaving Volumes when he puts out good shit like this.
  7. The few singles didn't do much for me but these guys haven't let me down yet.
  8. Their self-titled was such a let down, but those singles were Congratulations solid -- looking forward to it. Edit: Haven't finished but there's a surprisingly heavy focus on dark synth pop vibes. It's really bizarre since their recent focus on stoner/acid rock made me forget that this is kind of what they started off as. Me & Michael is a good example of this. Good so far though.
  9. Ehh..it's okay. Honestly after checking out Dawn Defeo I think the vocalist should just go to a different band.
  10. This song DEFINITELY needed the music video to complete it. 11/10
  11. I almost wrote them off after their last snorefest of an LP (imo), but this brings back that fun, energetic vibe of their first LP. Thanks
  12. I still don't know what I envy more about this band - their consistency in quality or their ability to continually produce so much material. I guess both.
  13. > now-defunct genre Da fuq u smokin? In just this year we've gotten a new WCAR, Wage War, Northlane, ABR, VoM, OAA, MTS, upcoming Phinehas, Counterparts if you want to throw them in there. You can argue maybe WCAR and Northlane are outside the genre at this point, but come on. It's one thing to say 2000 metalcore may have given way to djent fever, but I wouldn't say it's over just because some big names have turned to a different direction.
  14. Oh man, totally forgot about these guys after their (personally) disappointing self-titled. I used to play Congratulations and Metanoia non-stop in college (yes I am an elitist who likes it more than Oracular Spectacular).. I'm kind of hesitant to see where they're heading. Edit: Well after listening....it's not bad... definitely some moments where I can see the old MGMT, but overall it felt kind of unremarkable for me. I suppose the dark synthpop genre has been overdone at this point and I don't really see this adding much to it. I mean, yeah the vocals have a rather shortened delay and the bridge is interesting, but I was pretty much done with the song 3 mins in, video included. Also, wtf is the artwork? I hope that's the single artwork and not the LP....
  15. This is...weird. A bit too repetitive and 'noise' for my taste.
  16. I can't put my finger on it, but something feels off about the vocal mastering to me. Or at least, the vocals sound much better when it's a slower BPM or (in their other song) has layering or filters applied. I don't know quite why. Definitely interested in these dudes now though.
  17. It's better than most of Limitless, but still...eh. I get them trying to stand out, I just don't think they've found the sound that suits them best.
  18. Oh shit these dudes. I didn't even read the band name and just clicked on it b/c of the genre and found my self digging the LP. Haven't listened to these guys since 2014. Good shit.
  19. "35% of everything Sufferer makes goes to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA)", so def go and support them if you're digging it.
  20. End of Silence is a pinnacle LP for me, pretty much got me into the genre (along w/Billy Talent). Never been able to enjoy anything else they put out unfortunately - though Of Beauty and Rage came close. But dis, hoo boy, gotta keep expectations in check.
  21. Northlane is that you? Dope, kind of loses too much momentum midway through, but I'm interested in them now. Actually reminds me a bit more of Aviana, and I've already been overplaying that LP all year.
  22. Are you sure you aren't talking about Oli and That's the Spirit? Yuk yuk (I actually enjoyed bits of it, still like Sempiternal more) But yeah, I definitely feel mixed. The idea of Dennis joining sounded amazing, execution wasn't at all what I had hoped. Danny returning sounds great, but From Death to Destiny was 'okay' at best for me. I dunno, maybe the issue isn't so much in the drama of the vocalists and more in everyone else. I don't hate it, I do like the production, not sure if I can say I'm excited for it.
