  1. lol I love stumbling into random drama with no fucking context for anything. The album they put out wasn't too bad, I did enjoy some of the guitar work. But man, vocalists and their egos
  2. Such a weird album. I can't help but feel like it's a spiritual successor to I'm Only A Man, which I enjoyed despite it being their most mixed album.
  3. I like this better than the real one actually haha
  4. When I first heard Tunnelvision I got hyped for these guys. Thinking we'd get a proper Issues 2.0. But that LP fell so flat with maybe 2 more decent tracks. If this isn't a demo and the final quality, yeah I don't think I'm going to really follow them anymore.
  5. Love me some baroque pop, this has def has potential.
  6. holy shit, this brings back memories of Brokencyde with the auto-tone. Much less ear bleeding tho. Ray is actually not bad. Like I needed more guilty pleasure bands
  7. Yeah I was just about say I have Dreams at 256 if @Hope wants them. The V0 on Demonstrations would be dope Some have said suicide, others heroin. Rumors, not sure how truthful. Edit: Apparently an overdose. Still fucking sucks.
  8. Yeah I think the solo could have been a bit more bombastic, because otherwise it feels pretty safe. But overall I found this enjoyable than the previous releases
  9. Shoot, I completely forgot about them. Need to catch up ASAP
  10. Man I always wonder how many releases like this I skip just because I don't spend the time to check out every band on here. Good shit
  11. How DARE you. But yeah his stuff can definitely kind of blend, but Island Songs was fantastically fresh in my book. Especially after the super disappointing Chopin album (seriously, if you're going to make a Chopin cover, why not go all out?).
  12. HOL UP, YOU SAYIN ITS BETTER THAN THE AFTERGLOW??
  13. A bummer they lost their other vocalist, but I think it still works.
  14. Thing is, I'm not dwelling in the past hoping they'll return to their roots. I didn't like them until Sempiturnal and it was then when I started going backwards and enjoying their previous works. It's just, taken on it's own, the band name irrelevant, nothing about this song is enjoyable to me. It feels bland and overdone. Now put the band's name back on and of course people are going to be upset, because they know this band can actually produce better music. It's BMTH's choice, sure, and I respect them for following their vision - but doesn't mean I'm going to sing praises for it.
  15. I don't know how to feel about it. It's...unique to say the least. Hadn't heard of them, but I feel like this sweeping style can only get so much mileage. Even by the end of Lux my ears were kind of done.
  16. Lol I did the exact same thing. If anyone hasn't listened to Time, The Valuator's new LP, the latter half of it gives me some early HLH vibes (at least the vocalist does). Check out "Elusive Reasons". To be honest, I pretty much checked out of HLH after the 2nd LP - first one was good but over produced, second was meh, and then I had no reason to listen to them again. A real bummer, because I first heard them with their early demos and been to 3 of their shows now. Awesome dudes, just not at all the music I can enjoy.
  17. I'm really going to have keep expectations in check too, since Drift is what finally got me to check them out, and I've been replaying Impulse and Augment ever since.
  18. 320 or rioooooooooooottttttttt (I'm resisting as much as possible to listening to this)
  19. Their first album didn't do anything for me, but I was surprised at how much I liked Nocture. Pretty sure I saw it on Youtube's recommended feed after listening to Tycho too many times. I guess I need to revisit these guys.
  20. In all seriousness, I've had such a love/hate relationship with this band. Their debut LP was solid yet their sophomore album did nothing for me, but that's the one everyone loves and got them super famous. So I jumped off the train, but then they put out the acoustic-esque EP and I was like, huh, okay maybe these guys can do it. Cue the meh fest that Feel was, I forgot all about them. Madness came out and I finally gave it a spin and was like huh, maybe they can make a pop transition well. And then fucking Gossip. Maybe the secret is to listen to every other album they put out.
  21. @Mods can I report this post? If I even hear the bassline of "Cheers" I already start feeling sick. And then to say you'd not want "If You We're A Movie..." EP? /screams
  22. The last LP still doesn't sit with me. People rave about Dead Plains and it's my least favorite on the album. I tried liking it and do at parts, but still walked away dissapointed. This is... different. I do like how they're still not resting on one sound and growing stale, it'll be interested if this is indicative of the rest of the album or just a one off.
  23. Yeah that's pretty apt description. These guys are such a guilty pleasure band for me, interested in hearing more.
  24. That thumbnail makes him look like some soundcloud rapper
  25. Holy shit, thought they were never going to make another album. 6 years feels like forever
