Definitely solid for a radio driven pop song

Barely through my first listen and this is top 10 material. It's just so moody in so many ways and it hits every time. Plus good song writing and lyrics.

This is bad. War is a gross song

Finally 😍

If this album was without Three Wishes and Night Sway, it’d be better

Gonna play this a number of times more, but it's about what I expected so far - some good to really good tracks, but a solid handful of ones that don't interest me. I think the 15 track length contributes to that. Definitely a fun listen though with at least a track or two for everyone! Early favorite that I hadn't listened to before is Dead Horse.

Good track. I love me some Earl

I liked the other song(s) better but this is decent too

Nothing Shameful might be my #1 favorite on this thing, so so good.

no no, I'm comparing the lack of changing their sound between albums like both dgd and cp too. I thought that was more than obvious in my initial post.

- Into the Sunset is one of their weakest closers IMO. It's an okay song, but it's not even remotely as grand as Evaporate, Man of the Year, Turn off the Lights pt. 2, and so on. Bilmuri's part also feels very forced, like it's cut to really abruptly and just sounds like an excerpt from a Bilmuri song, and then the song goes back to DGD.
I agree with this but I love parts of it still, especially Swan's verse

Alright finished one listen.
Another great release for DGD as many of us expected. I'll need many more listens to really unveil everything I like and dislike, but initial reactions are as follows. Parallels ending might be my favorite moment on the record and I don't see many people mentioning it; it got the biggest physical reaction out of me at least. Other initial favorites were Prisoner of course, Parody, Born to Fail, Say Hi, Nothing Shameful. The second half came out stronger than the first it seems. Couple other things, I wish Jon played a biiit more of a role in the album overall but at least Secret Band LP2 still sounds as fresh as ever, and I think the lyrical content is just ever so slightly under par. Mothership is still the goat but we all expected that.

Just now, Joseph said:dance gavin dance have been releasing the same shit every 2 years and you keep listening to it
i'm not surprised they haven't bothered innovating
this album could be 30 hours of will swan shitting in a bath tub and you'd call it AOTY
you're scum and you don't deserve any better
says the counterparts fanboy xd
replace dgd with cp
will swan with Brendon
and you have the same post

This is my first Strokes album tbh but I've been loving it

I listened once but I am super fucking impressed. ES are the best at making albums equal parts exciting and ethereal, they really just make you feel things that other bands don't. And those feelings were in prime form for the band on this record. One gripe I have is that it could've ended better than King into Waltzing II.

The "multiple stab wounds" part is hilarious, love it. Not much else of the song does much for me but maybe it'll be a grower. Weakest of the singles as of now.

I think Jeremy's vocal melodies on this one are enjoyable. Song overall is slightly disappointing cause it's ADTR but for other bands it'd be solid at least. I'm just hoping the deep cuts on the album are better to give a project that has more substance.

We're Wolves - Bodies [Single] (2020)
in Singles
Posted
This is the worst band name in existence. Imagine saying “We’re ‘We’re Wolves!’”. Plus it also seems like an awful play on “werewolves”.
