Is envy the same band as envy on the coast?

Absolutely adore this on first listen. Lots of variety between atmospheric and intense sections made this so engaging. Still can't get over how beautiful "Rhythm" is either, which is easily my favorite song so far on here. Will have to see how this album stacks up against A Dead Sinking Story and Insomiac Doze with time, but it could be my favorite album from Envy so far.

Incredible musicianship, my favorite progressive release this month and probably album in general (still have this weeks to get through). Thanks for the share, definitely checking out their previous work.

Easily one of the most heart-wrenching and beautiful musical experiences so far this year. Although you can't really understand the lyrics since they are in Japanese, you can easily feel the emotion and power behind Tetsuya's voice. Couple the phenomenal vocal work with some stellar instrumentation packing lots of atmosphere and melody, you've get one of Envy's greatest records. It'll take some more time to absorb to see how it stands with the rest of their discography, but this is one of the strongest, if not the strongest, of their career. This easily will be in my end of year list, and I truly cannot recommend it enough.

Interested to hear this, thanks for sharing! Didn't Ben fire a bunch of band members for putting out that 'best of' album without his consent a while back? Then he turns around and signs off on something like this, (by all accounts) unmemorable with pretty questionable creative decisions and song choices? As a big fan of the band, I'm sure it'll be an interesting listen but I'm with some of you that a proper, energetic acoustic album with a little more variety from their discography would've been awesome. Missed opportunity.

You should check out more experimental music... Thy Catafalque's new record is a perfect place to start (note that 20% of that record is metal, the rest is pure bliss). Also, this record needs more Oil Rigs
