Okay, so I'm going to inject my opinion in here. Obviously, TAS is my favorite band, so I'm going to try and be as unbiased as I can be. I'll list what I love about this record, and also some dislikes (yes, I do have a few). This album is incredible. I can honestly say I wasn't expecting it to take the route that it did. It is a VERY weird album, but a very good one. It has your normal, generic Acacia Strain songs in there (Plague Doctor, Bitter Pill, Model Citizen), but also a few that are COMPLETELY different than anything that they have done before. Abyssal Depths is a great example of this. It starts out with slow clean riffs, and transitions into this slow, melodic, and heavy jam. It almost reminded me of Observer from Coma Witch, cut down into a much shorter song. Walled City and Cold Gloom almost seem like they could be one song, and they do a fantastic job of concluding the album. Walled City showcases the heavier side of this album, while Cold Gloom shows more of the melodic and emotional side that was heard in Abyssal Depths. This is a very dark, gloomy album, and I love every minute of it. A few highlights for me would be the breakdown in Plague Doctor, Abyssal Depths as a whole, the quiet section and breakdown of Dark Harvest, and the melodic bits in Cold Gloom. Now, my big gripe with this album is that it is almost TOO weird. Sometimes the constant tempo changes and strange song structures can be a little overwhelming, and throws me off a bit. However, my BIGGEST gripe with this album is the opening track, Worthless. This may be the only song on the record that I'm not a big fan of. The structure is all over the place, and the song is almost boring. This is a big letdown, because TAS are rather known for their huge opening tracks (Beast, Human Disaster). However, this is the only song on the album that really bored me at all. All in all, this album absolutely blew me away. Thanks for sharing, KL. <3

I retract my statement about Worthless. It has slowly grown on me and is now tied for my favorite on the album.
