Jimmy Eat World.

They make some of the catchiest anthems as well as some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. I can't fault them in anyway.

Am I allowed to call it a four-way tie between Protest the Hero, Silverstein, While She Sleeps, and Counterparts? Because I would/am.

For me, it's either Brand New or Circa Survive. Both bands continually release music that I connect with, and both are tattooed on me, multiple times.

Oh jeez, 100% Fall Out Boy. They've been my favourite band since I was in grade 6 and I loved them so much that I asked my dad to buy me the Joe Trohman signed guitar lol.
I've always been able to relate to TTTYG (I'm full on angst and a broken heart).
I'm not a huge fan on their newer albums, but I do still really enjoy them.

Both Rise Against and I Set My Friends On Fire.

Rise: The way Time writes all his music is just too perfect, ugh. <3

ISMFOF: So underrated and unknown, but so fucking amazing.

ISMFOF are not underrated. Everyone I know even if they listen to heavier music or not, have at least heard of them.

Taking them seriously on the other hand, is something else haha.

My favorite band is probably Nirvana, I don't think there is much to be reasoned why, it's the whole thing that makes Nirvana great. They are just the perfect fit for a guy like me, angsty, different, aggressive, brutal, primitive and above all genius and funny. I went through many stages of listening to Nirvana. 14 years ago, when I started listening to Nirvana, I just liked the guitars and the sound, mostly of Nevermind (punk) and soon I found out about the Insecticide album, which sounded like Punk to me as well. Years later I found my love for Nirvana again with Bleach, and how much the album made me feel myself, I heavily got into Grunge because of it. I started listening to In Utero more closely shortly after and always adored it for the raw sound and energy. Now, I love all of the albums and b-sides, I love how Kurt just sings something so random and meaningless and funny, still people make him out to be the deepest motherfucker since Satre.

That being said, Brand New takes a close second, easily.

The Devil Wears Prada. One of the first bands i ever saw back in 2007 at a local show in Chicago. Blew me away and they continue to put out incredible music.

Used to be Hollywood Undead. But since I can't listen to them anymore and there's so many awesome bands it's hard to choose. I would have to go with Carnifex, because I love everything they've ever released.

if we talk about who's the band that most hypes me, definetely is TesseracT. There's no other band that makes me goosebump like that. And if we talk about what hardcore band is the first that i listened ever. That would be Alexisonfire. I got a huge love for that band and City And Colour. Gave me so much happiness on the worst times of my life.

"If you thought you knew it all
Don’t shift your view, you might slip and fall
A long way down and down this rabbit hole
If the tunnel runs any deeper
You might come out the other side of the world
Maybe upside down you’ll be able see this isn’t what it seems
We are far from free."

August Burns Red, because of their incredibly creative writing style and flawless guitars. Found In Far Away Places should've been album of the year for 2015, imo.

Set to Stun because they're lyrical geniuses

Absolutely, my dude. They're my favorite too, hands down.

Of course it's near impossible to settle with just one band though, & would have to say another favorite lately is Say Anything.

Well this is going to sound very mainstream but, I'm going to have to say Blink 182. I first heard all the small things in the 2nd grade and instantly fell in love with them and the pop punk genre. Lyrically they're not that great and their music is very simple but, but if it wasn't for them so many good bands would not be around today.

My favorite band would have to be Between the Buried and Me. They are unlike any band I had ever heard. Every single musician in the band plays flawlessly (not to mention their drummer, Blake, is a god). They have some of the most intricate, natural flowing songs I have ever heard. Each one is unique to itself. Some of the most epic breakdowns and finales I've ever heard have come from this band. You can tell how much time and effort they put into all of their songs. Also, each of their albums sound very different and they have grown a lot.

Honorable mentions: A Lot Like Birds, Dillinger Escape Plan, and La Dispute.

I'm surprised that no one mentioned Architects. My favourite was Bring Me The Horizon, Sempiternal is still the best album in my opinion, however, That's The Spirit was a big let down for me, especially after Sempiternal. When Architects released Lost Forever // Lost Together in 2014, I was so taken it away, it was a masterpiece and the good thing is that they release All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us in less than a month, and according to the singles, it is something worth waiting for. (No wonder why I preordered it on vinyl).

Honorable mentions: Parkway Drive, Northlane, Stick To Your Guns and the always lovely Miles Davis.

My absolute favourite bands are The Beatles and Green Day. I think that the reasons are not needed. One is the best rock band of history and the other are just punk-rock legends that have been around for more than 3 decades now.

On a lower level is Falling in Reverse. I've been following Ronnie Radke for I don't even know how many years now, saw all the shit he got through and stuck there, and I just feel some kind of attachment to him and his music (Of course, it's not only Ronnie's work that make FIR as good as it is for me. All the members count.)

And then there is a third step with bands that kinda can change over time sometimes, but that right now would be something like Emarosa, All Time Low, Enter Shikari, Parkway Drive, Silverstein, letlive. While She Sleeps, H2O, Being as an Ocean, The Color Morale, Panic! At the Disco...

I honestly just have a lot of bands I reeeaally like to listen to from year to year, those are: BMTH, While She Sleeps, Coldrain, Architects, Bury Tomorrow, This Or The Apocalypse, Northlane, Parkway Drive, Volumes, In Hearts Wake, Erra etc. never truly had a favorite band (maaaybe Sum 41 in my early teens), just the band I'm currently most hype about. I like progressive, melodic, punchy, non-cookie cutter bullshit bands. Why should I invest time and repeated playthroughs in a band that is solid, but other bands have done the same better/much better and I already have attachment and spent time with them?

Some honorable mentions from bands that have only recently caught my attention and I've been jamming to a lot - Polaris, Ocean Grove, Currents (2015 AOTY), Kingdom of Giants, The Royal. Extremely curious in what all these bands will come up with this year, since they're all already writing/recording new stuff.

let me in.

A lot of great mentions here, mine comes with a story:

I unintentionally stumbled upon Dance Gavin Dance (on this site - thx by the way), because Acceptance Speech was released the same day as Common Courtesy by ADTR, which I was really excited about. Didn't know those guys until then. I listened to it and I thought it was weird. But I liked it. Then I listened to Downtown Battle Mountain II and was blown away. I love the silly lyrics, their experimental style and of course Jonny's voice and Mess' screams. Their other stuff was excellent as well, with Instant Gratification being my second favorite album by them so far. I preordered all their stuff since (which ships for ~25$ to Europe, which more than doubles the price of the album, but I don't mind). So in conclusion you might say that recently they are my favorites.

Before that I considered Rise Against (The Sufferer & The Witness) to be my number one. Also A Day to Remember.

First heavy band I've listened was Slipknot, I couldn't believe how heavy they were at the time, their masks, their shows and they energy. Last year I had the chance to finally see them and it was awesome, best day of my life. Then I would say Linkin Park, Deafheaven, A Day To Remember, The Browning and Thy Art Is Murder.
