some choruses flow well into the song, some don't, some choruses are sung too many times into the song, some don't. 2 choruses in 80 seconds is too many times for my tastes. Otherwise, great song.

I do get what you mean, I don't mind choruses, but personally, I prefer bands that can create different lyrics for a whole song, for exemple Counterparts. To me it shows better writing skills and originality than just use the same lyrics and repeat it just to make the song seem longer. It kind of ruin most of post-hardcore and metalcore bands for me because of their lack of originality when it comes to lyrical structures. Don't get me wrong this single is good, but the lyrics are very generic and it bugs me that bands keep making songs about love with the same angle, which have been overused. But I respect their choices of lyrics, if that's what they really love to write, but a couple of their last songs really lack in originality when it comes to lyrics, for me personally of course. Still very catchy tho.

I know what you mean, I appreciate linear songwriting so much. Even if it's a 2-3 minute song, I'd rather take that than a predictable, but solid 4-5+ minute one most of the time.

Exactly my thoughts. Mostly hardcore/melodic hardcore bands have linear songwriting. I do hear it in other genre, but not as frequently.
