@Maximo I unironically like it, lots of big juicy hooks hahaha. Here's to Starting Over is definitely my favorite, and the bridge in the song is my favorite piece of the entire album. Can totally understand why everyone hates it though. I think maybe I'm gettin old, time to buy those white sketchers, a costco membership, and a nice new grill to bbq on. Also, I can hear the metronome at the very end of the album lol.

I think some of the song structure feels a bit too similar but pretty much every chorus on here bangs hard with very few exceptions, really loved In My Blood, Here's To Starting Over and It's Not Me (It's You)

I haven't listened to this yet and I have not heard any singles.  Just wondering, why does everyone feel the need to let everyone know how bad they think it is?  Just don't comment, move on, and listen to something you like!

I've given the album a listen and to be honest I am a little disappointed.

The singles such as antisocialist hyped me up a bit, feeling the song just blends so well instrumentally and I felt Danny's vocals have improved a lot sounding a lot more natural than from death to destiny. However, although Antisocialist felt like a great song, the album lacks in consistency.

I felt that Asking Alexandria played it too safe, the tracks don't feel diverse or interesting and I am disheartened when I hear something good by them that they don't take advantage to discover more.

The whole album isn't a disaster, it feels like a solid enjoyable album but it isn't anything special.

6/10

I find the album enjoyable too, but I felt they held back with what they could actually do, it lacked diversity and sounds quite familiar amongst every track. But nevertheless their are some great tracks, but i'm primarily referencing the singles they released :P

Bands evolve and change their sound, Danny damaged his vocals since Reckless and Relentless.

Ill be keen to listen to this trying not to compare to their previous work and thinking of them as a new band like Asked Andrea.

Just finished listening.

It's...actually a good album. Like, not amazing, or pretty good, but I dig it slightly more than AA5. The songs have the same structure mostly, I agree with this; but just like the singles, I respectfully disagree about saying it's awful. People that like the heavier side of Asking will despise it, surely, or people that just don't like that much radio rock. But if you don't care and go for a casual listen, it's not that bad. I'm surprised.

Now, what I think was kinda disappointing is that some songs sound like they really went into experimental terrority, but then kinda...went down back to the radio rock route. And then there's Give You Up, where they just pulled through with it. It sounds like a fucking Starset song, absolutely not like AA. Also, In My Blood kinda teased a breakdown and...went to a bridge instead. That was also unfortunate. But the kinda EDM-ish ending was nice, reminded me of what BMTH did with Why You Gotta Kick Me.

Also, One Turns To None is my least favorite song. I was hyped for this, but it kinda disappointed...hm.

I'm giving it another listen once the 320kbps drops, but for first listen, I think it's good enough. Might be an unpopular opinion, but I am known for those lol.

No one can beat Suicide Silence's abyssal thing they did in 2017. Even Memphis May Fire's Broken was better than that lol

I don't give a damn about any potentially heavy tracks.

Can someone tell me if there are any good ballads on this thing?

the repeated give you up on "Give You Up"(shocker) is extremely jarring and kinda sad people are still using this shit in 2020

Damn.  I thought Id like this based on the singles.  But it really isn't very good.  I don't think its horrible...but theres just nothing overly exciting about it.  Its just boring..

This isn't the trainwreck I feared it might be, but it always feels very uninspired. I think it's pretty tough to argue that the album suffers from being 15 tracks long when so many of them have similar structures. Danny has a great voice obviously, but a lot of his melody writing here feels pretty lacking, like he didn't know how to stand out over some of the instrumentals, and he keeps falling back on very generic, lazy vocal patterns. That issue combined with the length makes the full listen honestly kind of a slog, even if there are some highlights. Don't see myself going back to this much.
