As far as I know, this is a scrapped song from Coming Home.

I watched you burning every bridge, then blame the smoke for your eyes burning.

"This song did not make our record" why though, this could've easily replaced Right Now on the deluxe edition at the very least

Dunno why this didn't make the cut, brilliant song/ballad.

Much better than one of the official bonus tracks.

RIP Derek, FIR will never be the same.

This is pretty good! Some of these vocals melodies feel copy and pasted from Just Like You so i can see why it didn't make the record.

I kinda hope Ronnie sticks to releasing banging singles every 6 months and not a meh single every couple of months.

Why do people only want one or 2 songs a year?

Yeah cool...let's get an albums worth of material over 5-6 years.

Its not like their albums were generally overly inconsistent or anything.

It all feels kind of pointless really

It's my favourite album by them; still think that Coming Home and Straight to Hell are stronger than this, but it's top 5 of all the album songs, easily.

Quality and revenue. Singles can have more time taken to make them the best they can possibly be. Losing My Life, DRUGS and Popular Monster have been pushing some of FIR's best numbers by putting more time into production, writing and music videos. Whilst the most recent album, Coming Home was the worst intake for them financially.

It just makes sense to keep going at this rate to keep the revenue up and the best quality of music consistent. And i for one, welcome this.

I do understand that side for sure.

But at the same time, cool, one song at a time gets old quick.

I guess they're in a position they can do this as they've established themselves enough

Thank fuck more bands don't do this though...imagine all the albums we wouldn't be getting.

Sure its nice when a new song hits, I love Popular Monster and the video clip....but overall, the bigger picture, just seems kind of lazy after a while and like you're just chasing your tail

Maybe he realized the title lyrics are from a My Chemical Romance song. Personally, I would have released it because it is a very good song. But I can see where Ronnie, maybe didn't want to change the lyrics and didn't want to be accused of stealing anything. Just an assumption. MCR is definitely a very influential band and it would have been a cool nod, it rocks!

Also, RIP Derek. He seemed like a positive constant in Ronnie's life and that's the makings of a great friend.

Also it keeps the band relavant since they're able to constantly pumping out music regardless if it's an album, EP, or single. Besides like what you pointed out, it helps financially for a band.

What we're seeing now is no different than back then when labels made bands release an album every couple of months or so, it's just that now it's with singles/EPs instead of a full length album.

I mean bands are in fact doing stuff like this, like you noticed how some bands will release half of their album before the album itself actually drops? It's just that they're dropping an album and the singles help get the word out more and help a band become more popular especially in the age of streaming. Hell some bands will drop singles without an album being announced until  maybe a couple of singles later (ex. Crown The Empire, Of Mice & Men, etc.)

I get that....but I'm referring to FIR not releasing an album at all and in 6 years or so finally have an albums worth....its lacklustre as fuck

Yeaaaaah. Was super disappointed when he said that. Especially after all these dope singles and the synthwave vibes with the visuals and such. Was hyped for an entire record with that vibr.

Then Ronnie had to shoot those high hopes down.

How did this not make Coming Home? Is it because it sounded more like their earlier material instead of the slog that was most of Coming Home? It's one of their better songs from the last 3-4 years.
