This is one of the greatest Melodic Death Metal albums of all time. I heard Stained Souls what seems like ages ago and ever since I've had my eye on this album. Of course I wasn't hyping much because it could have been the best song on the album. I didn't know what to expect, but of course had high hopes. And this easily surpassed my wildest expectations. Every track is an epic in it's own right with the songwriting to back it up. In some ways they are beating Insomnium and Be'lakor at their own game. Anyone with any interest in the genre owes it to themselves to hear this because it encapsulates most of the best aspects of the genre: expansive songwriting, explosive riffing, beautiful atmosphere, and that emotional duality of magnificent encouragement and heartache.
