its probably not their best stuff, and def the ppl love to dickride, but bruh, ur fav band is the weeknd and then ur complaining about songwriting taking a hit. u r the pop gobbler, and we all know u both just wanted that scam chorus. 
heavy does = good. so does bright = good. as does dark, or anything that effectively captures an emotion with any sense of understanding/mastery of it. issue is that base ppl think heavy is 0 0000 0 0 00 00 000000 0 0 0 on a guitar. which it is not. thats the soft ass shit that makes u throw feces over nothing. but that's not this song. this is like halfway in between that and something genuinely heavy, but honestly closer to the heavy side. comes in like a dump over a toilet. but then gets some texture pretty quick. pretty good. and probably means their next shit isn't just gonna be some pop grab bullshit, which is very good.

and i was just addressing the irony of a person who likes the weeknd basically saying ppl only liked shit bc theyre supposed to like heavy stuff, when i cant see any reason to like the weeknd other than for the sake of fitting in. plus, the songwriting isn't bad in this song at all, considering genre/band/etc. Not their best track, but a respectable effort from this band at this time, and good songwriting to be able to make a song without their usual formula and have it still ride. so kinda opposite of the tone of ur message. Like u said, i was able to agree with half of what u said, which makes it clear i was not just "attacking you". I was just saying, bruh... u like the weeknd, and then are complaining about songwriting in a tone suggesting the band was just playing to fans' tastes at a time when they could be playing to fans' tastes like yours, and probably getting more mass appeal for it, and they chose not to.

People that generally assume and call out need to grow up more, to be honest.

 

This song is fucking awesome. Yes, I like that it's a bit more heavier and intense than the average Currents song, but it's not like Currents weren't heavy and intense to be begin with, let alone not the only quality I like about this song. And it's fine if someone thinks this song could be better. Just leave it as that.
