In my almost 30 years (jeez) being in the metal scene, having gone to hundreds of shows over the years, Blind Guardian is still one of the absolute greatest concert experiences I have ever had. Opeth, Pantera, and other juggernauts never came close to BG's show I went to as a young lad.

Playing Nightfall In Middle-Earth in entirety with visuals and then having everyone raise a beer and sing along to The Bard's Song (In the Forest & The Hobbit) was probably the single greatest act of audience and fan interaction I've ever seen live.

Blind Guardian is eternal. Regardless of genre, they deserve a place in everyone's heart.

Holy shit, 20 years in the making. This is gonna rule.

Anyways, not big on the "Twilight Orchestra" logo for consistency's sake, so I made an edit with just their original logo, figure maybe if someone else is bothered by that type of thing too, I'll save them the trouble.

I don't know what to say. I am absolutely astonished. Everything about this was amazing, these guys were my first power metal band I have ever listened to, even if I was born in early 2000's. I love epic fantasy! I study of middle earth and medieval history for a long time and this makes me feel so much better in my life. This year is strong for metal music, the orchestra was beautiful! Twenty, fucking, years, in the MAKING.

This really does put a smile on my face. Blind Guardian will always have a special place in everyone's hearts and will go down in history, for always going strong. This is my favorite power metal/symphonic metal album this year, godlike tier, holy shit. It tells a story, it inspires you, it grips you, you suddenly sink in deeper and deeper. Simply 10/10. This almost made me emotional, theres something that hits me about their sound. I even got my grandfather into bands like nightwish, kamelot, and rhapsody of fire! Now THAT left me speechless. Speaking of which. I really hope is surgery goes well so I can show him Blind Guardian, he is always the biggest King Arthur lore person and I want to experience greatness. If only he comes back safe. I love you guys. Peace and willpower to all

Great write up! This is what you call a review, albeit brief (lowkey subtweet...).  But I've only listened to some Blind Guardian here and there, never really got into them.  This record is super awesome,  but what are your favorites?  Please direct me o master, for I am at the mercy of your free will.

Beyond the Red Mirror, A Twist in the Myth, and Night in Middle Earth were really good I have yet to listen to their earlier material when they were more speed/thrash

I shall give those a listen :)  Thanks!  I've never really cared for power metal to any degree (with the exception of the obligatory Dragonforce but they've become a meme at this point imo), but this symphonic fusion is really shweet.  Thanks a ton dad!

This is a LOT of Blind Guardian. 2 Hours and 22 Minutes counting the instrumentals.

The last thing i expect is disappointment though.  Lets jam this symphonic power metal monolith.

EDIT: @Anton Chigurh , This album is NOT a metal or even a rock album. It is all symphony and vocals. No guitar to be spotted here. Just thought you should change the genre. :)

Shoot you right, I didn't even think of that after listening (posted before I listened to it).  I was so overwhelmed with the music (in a good way).

God DAMN this is good. Even the corny ass dialogue between the songs (total Nightfall callback, it rules) is so enjoyable, reminds me of growing up with that album. Literally nobody else right now makes music to the scale that Blind Guardian does, barre maybe Nightwish.

@Anton Chigurh Gandalfstorm is right on the money with the recommendations. Especially Twist In The Myth and Nightfall In Middle-Earth. I HIGHLY recommend their 1992 album "Somewhere Far Beyond". That album has the 2-part 'The Bard's Song' which is one part acoustic campfire-folk and second half is just a metal anthem. "Nightfall...." still holds up to this day as one of the absolute best concept albums (entore story is based off J.R.R. Tolkien's The Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales, and The History Of Middle-Earth posthumous works).
