edit:

first listen and it’s really solid. Halfway through the last song I almost was gonna say I was disappointed as it wasn’t stand out enough (like in the rest of their records), but after the fast bit they really changed it nicely. Top songs? It’s too early to say, but some favourites are:

stale smoke, hourglass, no man born evil, desperate.

 

i think this is one of their top 3 albums, it’s certainly better than Abandoned. Cannot wait to get lyrics. If anyone gauged the story- please tell me. With the departure of the main songwriter the lyrics may be less deep on this but I don’t think they are, I’ll have to read them.

 

Last song (No man born evil) is fucking sick, it's about the brother dying (and ties into their song Bled Out from Letters Home). That means this album is a prequel to from Letters Home. Letters Home's tracklist is in reverse order (so the last song is chronologically the first).

I think it's great and probably their best in half a decade as far as song variety and instrumentals are concerned but the vocals or the lyrics still aren't even close to the greatness of their early material, maybe some time?

Agreed - they gave no clarity to the new album's story and there is a LOT of confusion over it. They even admitted it's their most complex story yet soooo whats the point in dodging questions?
