Linkin Park - What Are You Worth? (Demo) (Single) (2019)

Instrumentally I'm loving this. It's catchy af and hearing actual distorted guitar is great. People seem to expect the same thing over and over from every band, but these guys are literally middle aged now. Tastes change, life and growth change the way an artist creates. Listen to the old stuff if that's your jam (I prefer the old stuff too), but no need to crack the shits when something's not the exact same as you remember it. People would crack the shits for repetitiveness too.

"crack the shits" :/

Other Releases by

Hard pass. Living Things was the last true Linkin Park album. Even then they were really drifting from their roots which I really came to love, but I still enjoyed it.

This album was not for me. Not even close. And sadly neither is this song. I hope the band enjoyed making it though.

I'm inclined to agree. Don't get me wrong, Chester's death is extremely tragic and I feel for his family and the band. It is to be said tho that everything after Minutes To Midnight was pretty damn lackluster and people shit on One More Light nonstop when it came out. Only after Chester's death did OML get praised to hell and back (by the same people shitting on in before of course). This song again is very predictable and while catchy this is so below what LP is capable of that it's not even funny.

Fun fact, I never listened to Linkin Park before Chester died. And never once did I ever shit on anything they released except A Thousand Suns, and even then, I never "shit" on it.
Lackluster, maybe. Bad? No.

OML is my favorite LP album. I can get hate to the moon and back but that will never change the fact that it's my favorite one.

Too bad this didn't make it on the album, this is actually a good song. Reminds me of "Shadow of the Day".

I fucking love this. Very catchy. Had me smiling and bobbing my head as soon as it started. Mike's become an amazing singer. Chesters definitely watching over him with a smile on his face. So nice to hear a "new" LP song. I know it's hard to be a dual vocalist but it'd be really cool if Mike started doing uncleans and they brought back a teeny bit of their roots. Of course some hip hop as well. I grew up listening to LP, lol I would love a lil ole school. But like artists change we change, I still love heavy shit but I love the way LP have evolved over the years and still make a huge impact. Even though Chesters gone they are pushing forward. Mike's carrying on the band for him. It's what he would've wanted. Im very happy this song surfaced. I can't wait to hear what LP has in store for us. :D oh and to the flops. Stop with the bitchy child comments of hate FFS. If you don't have something nice to say don't say nothing you twats.

For everyone complaining about them releasing a song with just Mike on it, have you never listened to any of their full albums before? It’s  nothing new for them to have a song without Chester lol

Yea....rap songs. I can’t think of any that Mike sings by himself. If this song had made the album, Chester would have sang AT LEAST half of it. So therefore, (in my humblest, ready to get down voted opinion) there is no point in releasing this as a LP song.  It’s not!  He’s doing a solo thing now right?  So release it that way. Cause this ain’t LP.

I know, i kind of killed it.

As is always the case with music fans, you're allowed to love something, but if you dislike something, there must be some silly reason why. I'm clinging onto the past, i hate when bands i like change, i was never a *real* fan, i'm being edgy....whatever. It's like it's impossible that i simply really disliked everything after Meteora, and consider everything after to be generic drivel. It must be motivated by something else, because it's impossible that it's just that simple.

He most certainly does NOT sing In Between by himself. I’ll give you the b-side.

Those two songs are so bad that I already forgot all about them. I don’t think I ever heard them in their entirety.

So....a b-side, and one shitty song off their last album are all Mike. Got it. ?

My original point still stands. Should have just released it as a solo song. Real LP songs have Chester in them.

I mean this wasn't released, it's just a leaked demo that was labeled under Linkin Park. This could very well be something Mike plans to release under his name or on a upcoming LPU album if they plan to release another one of those with other b-sides/demos. But I don't really agree with "real LP songs have Chester in them". I mean he obviously was an important part of LP but the other members are just as important. They have said they plan to continue making music together, more than likely under the Linkin Park name which I don't see as a big deal. I think Chester would love for them to continue on.

Sad about Chester but lets be real, Linkin Park died after Meteora.  There were a few songs on minutes to midnight that I could stomach but I couldn't listen to them after they went soft.

Like it or not, they're Linkin Park songs, so i don't think your point stands (I'm not trying to argue, just saying what my opinion)

I think, even if a song does not feature a band member, there's a certain amount of creative input from everyone in that band

Out of curiosity, why did you say that he most certainly does not sing In Between? Chester just does backup vocals (I think), as does Mike in some Chester-lead songs

I meant that Chester is clearly singing in that song.  Thats all.

My issue really is the timing.  If Chester were alive and well, I could just write this off as a crappy song off a crappy album.  But since Mike is doing solo stuff now, he should have released it as a solo song.  He could have given writing credit to any band member who had creative input.  Just seems wrong to me to release an LP song without Chester in it after hes dead.  Ya know?  Just my opinion.

Anyways, song's pretty meh.  Not bad, not spectacular.  Sounds like something that would have been on Mike's solo Post-Traumatic LP.

Perfect response. This is how most metal groups are. If you disagree with something, it's usually one of those reasons OR you're just "factually incorrect". You'd be surprised how many people confuse opinions with facts nowadays. Whether it's shitposting or not, it's really sad that people have been brought down to that level.

If you don't like it you don't like it. Nothing bad about not liking something EVER, no matter what the case is. Don't forget that :like:

That's like saying you can no longer use your last name because one of your grandparents died (whom you got the last name from).

You kinda come off as chester was the "bigger" part of a 6 man band. It's a "band". 5/6 people is still a band and if they create something, they can release it on their "band" or "brand" name.

Anyway, you do you.

Considering I grew up on LP,  tough to dislike anything they or even Mike alone puts out. So yeah, 10/10.

I get what you're saying, but since it's a leaked demo, maybe the band didn't even think about releasing it

Anyway, I enjoyed the song and I wish they continue to release music, don't care if they call themselves Linkin Park or not
