This isn't a new issue. He has had substance abuse issues before. He was clean for a while, but his girlfriend/fiance (I don't remember which it was) broke up with him just as they were finishing the album and apparently he took it real bad and started using drugs again. The band couldn't get a hold of him or get him to commit to anything. So it all just fell apart.

That's sad. Either way I'm hoping for the best for these guys in the future.

I wonder if they'll ever go back to the sound of the Build for Blame Laced with Shame ep (despite the vocalist on the EP being a convict of child porn; disgusting)

Ok so these guys were never anything amazing but they always knew how to write quality scene shit and imo this album encapsulates everything they did in their last few albums and is probably their best release. Most of these songs are catchy and punchy as fuck and besides some bad lyrics and a few mediocre and repetitive songs around the second third of the album it's quite great.

demons is their best album. dark and heavy, the dark days can't beat that. the same is with northlane/alien,i expected to be also dark and heavy and>mesmer.

I just finished my first listen through with 320 and WOW! The album blew me away again there was quite a bit suppressed on that 128 that you hear in 320, I love this album to pieces and has become a very unexpected AOTY contender for me personally. The riffs on here SLAP, the drums here are top notch, the mix between Nick and Brad actually work really well and the gang vocals throughout are a nice touch that make choruses on songs like Calling All Crows and Goodbye Soul soar through your headphones or whatever you're listening with.

Final verdict this is an easy 10/10 still. Just grows on me more and more with each listen, and if you loved Demons I'm pretty sure you'll love this one too. I love all the songs but my top 5 at the moment would have to be Calling All Crows, The Dead Days, Enough is Enough, Hell Is Where The Heart Is and Time Keeps Running.

I don't know... not a single song on this album was the least bit interesting to me. The guitar was so... boring? Damn, and I had such high hopes for it too. I like every other album they've released. But hey its just music, no hard feelings towards them as a band.

It started as a banger, "Bad Things" and "Enough is Enough" are tops. "Silence" is good too. then they went more pop punk-esque later on, like their earlier material with "The Dead Days" and "Like it or Not". The album has a clearer/punchier production quality then previous releases so that helps a bit. I'd like to see them use the more aggressive background vocals for now on

Alright so I waited for the 320 up and listened to it on my drive into work. Demons is easily in my Top 5 albums of all time. It is heavy, catchy, and just outstanding to me. I really liked Best Kind of Mess. It had some super catchy songs on it. I really disliked Everyone's Out To Get Me. I pretend that that album doesn't exist.

Now this album... ugh. I was so hyped for this album after Demons. The first half of the album is ok. It's heavyish but a bit repetitive. The songs generally lack the catchiness that I found the songs on Demons had. Then you get to the so out of place pop-punk songs. I feel like they tried to do something similar to EOTGM but it ended up falling flat. The end of the album is just meh. Nothing really stood out as memorable to me. And that is a shame because Get Scared has had some super memorable songs, especially on BKOM.

Overall I am let down. It didn't come anywhere close to Demons or BKOM, but it is better than EOTGM.

Verdict= Get Scared: R.I.P.

Not one bad song, and a few great ones. 10/10. I don’t understand how anyone could like this band, and not love this album.

This sounds like a worse Pierce The Veil. The songs are heavy but the vocals ruin every song, mix that in and you have mediocre lyrics and songs that you will play once and then never again.

Hard pass.

@Thatoneguy335  how is it poppy? Its not one bit pop??? I hate people who judge music  if a band is not heavy they are automatically more pop

really?.. a lot of this sounds very pop punk-ish.

personally I love it, gives it personality... there's enough chuggy breakdown laden phc available... I'd take this with all its late 2000s cringe any day.

but I cut my teeth on Silverstein and chiodos, so I'm probably biased, but a perfectly high pitched sing along chorus that transitions into some crunchy riffed bridge.  yes please,

Not here to disagree with you not liking it. But I will say it sounds nothing like PTV

I've always been a casual fan of this band.  But damn, I was super impressed with this album!! I've been listening to it all day. Production quality is top notch. Really good job. I'm going to re-visit their previous albums now.
