well there were rumours of a 13th track circling around at one point, think it was called "wishing you were here" or something along those lines. the band were also toying around with re-recording some of their older material with denis on vocals if I remember correctly, so the re-done tracks could potentially land their way onto a re-release at some point... unless they've scrapped the idea

Received my preorder in the mail while I was at work today. Got home, popped it in my laptop, ripped it, put it in my phone, and jammed it as I walked with my friend. I actually very much love this album.

I'd say my favorite tracks are Send Me Home, The Lost Souls, The Black, Let It Sleep, Gone, and Sometimes It Ends.

All in all, very pleasantly surprised and would rate 8-8.5/10

So like the last few posts, there are rumors of a 13th bonus track. Now on some other sites you can download the track and its called Unjustified Expectations. However, when i listened to it, it sounded so familiar.

 

It is actually this song called Just Another Night[mare] feat. Denis by Skarlett (maybe some of you heard it a few years ago when it came out. this band got a lot of crap because of how similar it sounded to AA)

So genre wise Asking is leaning more metalcore. I usually base post-hardcore and metalcore on how much clean vocals there are. For instance; Silverstein, Before their eyes, chiodos, pierce the veil, palisades, too close to touch, secrets, dance gavin dance. All post-hardcore. Where as; Veil of maya, killswitch engage, the devil wears prada, atreyu, volumes, erra, periphery, august burns red. All metalcore. I list all these bands under 'Alternative Punk & Metal' on my ipod though so that I don't have to worry about any sub-genre's.

It's fucking metal, plain and simple. My opinion of the album, I liked it so much, I bought it the day it came out. Dennis is an amazing vocalist, he brought asking alexandria back to the way they should sound.

Pretty terrible lyrics, Dennis is an average vocalist, and the instrumentals all sounds pretty similar from song to song. Probably the most average record I've heard in a long time.
