Well, they pretty much perfected their sound on the last album, now it was definitely time for something new. And that is kind of what we got. They traded in most of the hardstyle for slow heavies and lots, lots of cleans. So pretty much a more "mature" sound. Sadly, theres few great songs on this besides Carnage and Final Breath, which are two of the best songs they've made to date. Especially Geist is mad trash (and I'm pretty sure it features the We Butter The Bread With Butter vocalist) and even the song that is most reminiscent of their other work (Amnesia) isnt that great. The only memorable songs to me were the the first 2 singles and the outro of Awaken the Omega, which is fantastic. 

 

I will give it a few more spins, maybe it will grow on me as long as I make sure to skip Geist

I'm loving this. I was surprised by the rap part in the video. Used to listen to The Browning but stopped because older stuff was a bit generic for me and I strayed away from EDM/dubstep influenced bands. Also if I remember they only did uncleans. Though I've always loved the dudes uncleans regardless of how the band sounded before. All in all a pleasant surprise. Should add at top with genres Rap unless it's only that one song.... But not rapcore.
