I had low expectations for this but I actually really like it, would definitely put it far above Aggressive and maybe even Disgusting.

 

I just wish he would include the rest of the band in the writing process, more song ideas, more lyric ideas, better song structures rather than:

 

Song starts-quiet vocals-main riff kicks in-screaming verses-singing chorus-*repeat*-breakdown-singing chorus-screaming verse at the end

 

Really noticed it through this album, don't mind it too much but just something he needs to change and I think the other members will help with that.

It's alright but it's way too similar to everything that's come before to be enjoyable. I feel like I've already heard everything on this album already.

There's that part of Clever (I think that one) near the end of it where every babd member is involved. Was really cool to hear

 agreed, hts might just take it from dgd for me, and I wasn't even looking forward to mental knife that much, huge step up from previous 2.  I haven't listened through skeptic yet, but what I have heard is good, not great imo

 

this reminds me a lot of crown shyness.  the catchy alt rock singing that slides into a more hardcore influence occasionally.  catchy choruses.  hmm

I don't hear what you're hearing at all tbh. But no one perceives music identically so that makes sense.

Where did you find this information? If this is actually true I'd love to read or learn a bit more about it (Maybe you do have a reliable source, no worries). But Caleb strictly does all the instruments himself, he even mentioned while recording Disease that everyone at the label/in the band knows that. I'm just not sure why, out of all the songs, he'd get the band to play on the most personal song on the album. What do you hear at the end of Clever that makes you think that the band was involved? 

Just genuinely curious, I'd love if it were true But since day one Caleb had recorded all instruments so I don't see why he'd include the band for one song, you know?

The band (Not the full band, usually just Oshie and Kamron) is somewhat included in the writing process. You'll see that with their episodes of the making of Disease. Oshie was involved quite a bit this time around. Though Caleb writes the music, it's never finalized until the band hears it. The band gives feedback etc. Also in the series you'll see that he even has a friend there that gave him some suggestions on what the chorus for Manipulation should be. So it's not a whole one-man process, Caleb has help with switching around lyrics, guitar parts, how songs start etc. So the song writing process he has help with, but he records everything himself, Obviously

I more meant that it sounds very different than anything else there, and there's definitely multiple sets of vocals, not just Caleb or the backing vocalist
