Good album, but nothing original, new or innovative. Heard it all before.

By the way, what's up with the weird ass outros that never really blend with the song that comes next? What purpose does the +1 minute outro have on Black Flame?

I also personally loved some of the more ambient moments in the album, most notably the last minute of Overcast. So yeah, the ambience is cool and all, but why not do some songs that are more mellow and go for that sound? Why are they holding themselves back to structures and predictable ideas? The album might even be slightly better than Earthbound, but I still enjoy Runes and Crowns more, solely because those albums offer more as a whole.

I'd really love them to bring back something similar...

Not bad,  not great either. the 2nd half is way more interesting. I dig the atmospheric parts. I've never been a fan of them and it won't change with this album.

It never feels like any of these songs were written with an album in mind. I mean, what the fuck is up with these meme outros that don't even transition into the next song?

That being said, I loved the singles and besides some of the first half being lame as hell (My Revenge would have been a great 3 minute song), this album turned out pretty damn good. Also, the only *actual* Outro on this album (that is not a meme) is really good (Peacekepper)

Yeah... Nothing has beat the emotions that they offered on some of the tracks on The Union of Crowns...  I'll give a listen to that new album, but nothing has surpass their second release so far. It's one of my favorite metalcore album ever.

Digging it, solid album IMO.

I am still not statisfied with the production. Screams are a bit too quiet. Guitars don't take enough space to my liking - very far right and left - almost no centre are guitar only vocals and base drum. And a bit of bass. A liked their sound picture much more on union of crowns. I like the cleans but they take too much space imo. Also they still sound a bit odd at times. As if there was distortion on the whole thing or something.

The good: i love the songs. But i can only agree with and forward you to Dwesks comment that it has potential as a album to do more.
