Whoops, accidentally wrote "February". Whatever though, of course I voted for Cancer Bats but there were a lot of great releases this month.

My vote was for Inferi because good death metal is good. "Mainstream" releases I loved this month are Bleed From Within, Afterparty, Settle Your Scores, Sink The Ship, Cancer Bats, Ingested, Shields and Homewrecker.  Other underground but yet amazing releases I can think of right now are Snakefeast, Unravel, Buried Above Ground, Symbiotic (mexican Abiotic) and Day Of Mourning (some good south korean metalcore, or should I say K-core?)

I voted Royal Coda but could have easily went with Underoath or Hawthorne Heights.

Lots of great releases from Inferi to TDTC to Bleed From Within, Tesseract, and so on.  But for me, Shields takes the cake for the month.  What a monstrous sounding album, especially since it had breakdowns that put a majority of the breakdowns in the genre to shame.  Fantastic debut album if you have yet to hear it!

At the start of this month i would've though royal coda would be the best, but Inferi's new album was too good to not vote for.

Inferi gets the vote for me. It's right up there next to Rivers of Nihil for best metal album of the year so far. Isaac Gracie's debut is probably the all-around best April release for me, but that was never posted here.

yeah, we used to be able to change our vote until the very end, which made sense because people change their minds constantly, it's part of being human

Inferi and Bleed From Within are great, the rest in this list were pretty forgettable, not a great month in my opinion.

One that is not on this list that stood out for me is the new Sleep release which was great (why is this not on the list?).

I was really dissapointed with the Perfect Circle album.

30 Seconds to Mars and Godsmack's releases are terrible.

Added Sleep. I forgot it because as a surprise release, it wasn't on our calendar

@coachlow @drownwithmatt I'll ask mR12 to re-enable this

Voted Limbs because I see myself listening to it more than TesseracT (even tho it's fucking amazing) or TWY releases.

2. A perfect Circle - Eat the Elephant

3. Breaking Benjamin - Ember.

And fuck that Underoath new album.... such a letdown.

I can't believe in a month with unknown mortal orchestra, 30 seconds to mars, wonder years, underoath, lord huron, hawthorne heights, breaking benjamin, tesseract, and post malone, I'm voting for Lume. Especially considering after first listen I almost deleted the entire album. Nothing really stood out and it took at least 7 listens to enjoy it. Gotta appreciate the depth and diversity of music

April saw some good releases, but top 3 in my opinion are:

#1 - The Dali Thundering Concept - Savages

Underrated band throws a hard left with this one. A progressive jaw-dropper.

#2 - TesseracT - Sonder

This band exploded onto the scene and each release since has yet to disappoint. The atmospheric blends keep you wanting more.

#3 - Shields - Life In Exile

Simply put: Visceral; beginning and ending with a sonic boom, this is an album that gets you moving.

FUCKING AWESOME MONTH FOR MUSIC.

Anyways here's my top 5:

1. Breaking Benjamin - Ember

2.Post Malone - beerbongs & bentleys

3.The Wonder Years - Sister Cities

4.Underoath - Erase Me

5.Palm Reader - Braille

There were also a few releases that were good but not honestly that memorable for me such as:

1.Settle Your Scores - Better Luck Tomorrow

2.Sink The Ship - Persevere

3. Royal Cola - Royal Cola (Probably the most overhyped album of April)

4.TesseracT - Sonder (The instrumentals still overpower the vocals heavily for this band, they really need to fix their mixing)

5.From Ashes To New - The Future (Old vocalist was better, but the new one is decent enough to keep you coming back to a few of the tracks on the album)
