This shit gets me heated. Yes he has a decent voice but is it something that is that incredible to warrant 5 million fuckin views and a record contract?? What angers me is so many bands work there fucking asses off hoping to catch a break and most of the time it doesn't happen. This kid does an ok performance on youtube and because of his look record labels so the gimmick and couldn't resist. Wholesome cute kid with an ok voice! Get him a deal damnnit!

Welcome to the music business. But in all seriousness I do agree with you. But this is how pop/top 40 music has always been. I may be a bit biased because I actually like country music. I’ve seen videos of him singing Hank Williams songs and he fucking nails it. Would I actually buy his album? Probably not. But there’s definitely a place for it.
