If i listen to this and don't feel like Jack Sparrow on the black pearl I'm gonna be so disappointed. If only it wasn't raining today, I could listen while cruising the asphalt sea.

Honestly would probably say this is the best track so far, but still it just feels like its on a level far below what they were obviously and what they could be.

To people like @SavageWraith or @DekinhoDesu
I mean, most teens and/or young adults and especially KL community who love their cores don't really enjoy actual metal (shit like Alternative doesn't count) especially heavy metal imo so it makes sense that even if you differentiate the song from the band, you might still not enjoy this. It was much easier to do with Atlas even though they were already "maturing" their sound and had anthemic songs like Wild Eyes, but with Ire and probably this album, it'll be too much of a genre jump for everyone to enjoy.

As I said before, technically I am not huge on dad metal/heavy metal myself even tho I enjoy some good thrashy/deathy albums from 80s-90s and according to that I should enjoy Wishing Wells more but I find more flaws which annoy me in certain parts of that song and the fact that it is at least a minute too long makes it just a "good" track for me, I don't even wanna talk about The Void because whether you want to label it as a PWD song or a Heavy Metal song, it's fucking mediocre, but something about this one connects both of those singles and actually executes it fairly well, guess I'm just lucky that the gang chorus this time around is much better than on The Void or Vice Grip or Devil's Calling or similar bullshit songs. I still expect more variety and potentially bangeroonies like there were on Ire.

Can I just say I'm officially adding "bangeroonies" to my official vocabulary lol. As for the rest of your post I know man. It just feels wierd to me that people even younger can't appreciate actual metal/thrash like the band's they love do. Also, idk about others, but I personally progressively got into heavier and heavier music. Literally everything from pop-Deathcore from age 4-24 so I figured everyone else had somewhat similar progression. I appreciate music in all genres, except modern country/ redneck rap fuck that silly shit and throw it in the bin where it belongs lol. I guess that's why I get so much shit for my long posts. 90% of the time it's someone who's 18 or younger getting triggered at words especially if they disagree with those words. But alas, that's the world we live in today. I'll still occasionally post long reviews but I'm not gonna get into pissing contests with these teenagers anymore. I honestly don't even have the energy to lately other than for PWD,BB, I probably will for DGD and Blue October and maybe even Post Malone but I'm pretty busy nowadays. Literally to the point where I gotta use vacation hours sometimes just to run errands or do shit around my house lol.

But cheers boi. Here's to the coming bangeroonies!

Didn't quote you to talk about parkway. Not my kind of band. Glad you enjoy their music though.

I grew up with the same music as you, minus the deathcore. So like, pop-metalcore. I also don't understand what's wrong with straight up metal and why people don't like it

I like reading your longer posts. I like seeing musical opinions. I like to see why people enjoy what I can't enjoy myself

Well, I've got no expectations for this album after this latest track. But honestly, that's probably a good thing. I'm hoping some of these songs grow on me, I thought Ire was a good take on experimental metal/core, but this stuff just doesn't click with me what-so-ever (yet?).

I agree with the Pirateway Drive statement made earlier, but you know what? Fuck the hate because this is pretty damn catchy and it sounds good

There was a very small glimpse of old Parkway in that song but it wasn't enough for me... I respect these guys like I said before on that forum, I even respect them even more just for the fact that they just decided to do what they love, because lets be honest, this is not selling out... Personally I left metal/trash bands in my high school locker it's been a while and they're locked probably forever. I can't get into that genre anymore ,I just can't...

But like I said before, these dudes are freaking awesome and they deserve all the support and love they get. The summer I watched their documentaries is still one of the best summer ever, I was jobless and I just watched these guys having so much fun in those beautiful layouts... It made me feel alive and I went out and just did whatever I wanted. Sadly I can't do that anymore, but these guys still have to make sacrifices to do what they love and they really represent the kind of band that deserves all the success they have.

I pretty like anything metalcore and deathcore, it doesn't take a lot to impress me. This track is a jam. Listened to it 10 times in a row and couldn't get sick of it. Can't wait for the album.

If you’re a PWD fan, I don’t understand why you wouldn’t like this. Sure, they’re evolving. But if you like their old stuff, you can still listen to their old stuff. Personally I think it’s cool that they’re pushing their sound in new directions. I don’t want to hear them make “Deep Blue” 5 albums in a row.

I like it. Not as good as Wishing Wells, but a lot better than The Void IMO

I think this record is going to be a mix of Ire and all the other albums from them, that album didn't grab me that much but sure this will be an interesting step in their career

It's not that we want Deep Blue 5 times in a row, it's the fact that Parkway have pretty much gotten lazy, the reason we all fell in love with Parkway was because they were different from everyone else and the best at it, you didn't know what was coming from the next 30 seconds of a song weather it was a new riff, key change or breakdown it was so exciting but now i could see exactly where these latest 2 songs were going and knew exactly when another chorus was coming it's so generic. Wishing Wells still had that element of surprise and it was awesome.

I don't know how to feel about the three singles, I really enjoyed all of them, but I just can't listen to them casually.

Either way, I think this sound is going to be huge at shows, just as Ire.

i love the new tunes and IRE, but youre right, they are killer live songs, you can hear it start to finish. There is so much crowd involvement.

It's not bad. I've never been into the spoken words type music, so that turns me off a bit. Feel like we all should just gather around the campfire while he talks in his scary voice sharing ghost stories.. Got some cool riffs though, especially at the end when it gets heavy. They are always fun live.

It's not Lazy as much as being diverse. There's loads of great metalcore bands that have adapted and adopted that era of PWD's sound so if PWD just kept doing that they wouldn't stand out for better or for worse. Either they change it up in this way or go full blown deathcore. But atleast this way they can mix it up, make some bangeroonies, as well as sell out stadiums and big shows.

So I understand how you feel man. Deep Blue being my favorite album overall, but the final song on Atlas 'The Blue And The Grey' is My favorite PWD song made thus far so I honestly get it. I'm just in a position where I understand their decision and I dig it. Plus there's loads of other great bands too. Either way I'm glad they're doing well and hopefully this album has stuff on there for every PWD fan new or old or both.

Dude i agree to a certain point, i dont hate the song, its actually grown on me the last couple hours ive been listening to it, same thing happened with Ire and i fucking love Ire now and man 'The Blue And The Grey' is the most underrated song its a shame it was only a bonus track it was the highlight of Atlas and i place that song in my top 5 from PWD.

Anything related to post “ the fall of ideals “ ATR is associated with bad. I know I would never want my music change to be associated with ATR, but ok.

They don't sound metalcore to me at all anymore. Power Metal is what this is. So sick of bands leaving roots just to change to what they aren't, just to try something different. I hate when you enjoy all the bands albums, then they do this and you add the album to the discography, and then you shuffle all their music or even all your collection, especially when all is listed as metalcore genre, and then like BMTH, and this band and others, go different, and they do not even sound metalcore. It BS to me. I do not want to go through all albums, just to change the genre to something else, because they want to change. About ready to say screw the new albums that are changed and get rid of them and just stick with bands that stay Metalcore genre, because that is what I like, not other genre. Anything from Metalcore, Deathcore and Post-Hardcore I like, but this is getting annoying that they do this, then people call a change or experiment or growing. I like a band because that is what they are, not because they want to change.

@utahman1971 as much as I also dislike this song or direction they're taking, we're better off just abandoning hope in the band than complaining about them following their heart or doing what they feel like doing. I respect a band that makes music they love, over making music just to please the crowd.
