Yeah this is fucking great. Personally hoping for a Mothership 2.0 and so far this sounds pretty similar, so no complaints hear. Fantastic single.

A couple of things:

 

1. This is one of the best songs I’ve heard this year and it’s just above average for DGD.

 

2. Even a great song like this can grow on you. I wasn’t a huge fan of Betrayed by the Game at first but now I LOVE it.

This may be the first DGD song i thoroughly enjoy. His raspiness makes it less annoying to listen too. The production also sounds way better than anything they've ever released.

 

That being said, the KL staff are hard at work to ensure that DGD get AOTY for a third time.

Maybe not 1-2 albums, but he doesn't have many left, his vocal state gets worse every album, I'm not calling him bad, but, his vocals obviously deteriorate more every release

I think it's obvious that he's purposely utilizing the raspiness. His voice was like that on Tides of Man stuff, so you think his voice was going then?

Good song. I don't like it as much as Betrayed By The Game.

Tillian's parts are just fine, despite being poppy. My real problem is why is Jon's early parts so quiet (or just kinda distant)? Hopefully that's just because YouTube fucked up the audio.

I was thinking the same. This isn't new for him. The raspy and almost raspy scream that he did a lot on mothership is all TOM era stuff for him. Happy he brought some of it back on Mothership honestly.

I'll disagree with that, Instant Gratification was much more poppy with the exeption of a couple of tracks (mainly Shark Dad and Variation). While Mothership was heavier, Tilian gained a much stronger voice but Jon did stay almost the same.

Mothership was more poppy imo, unless I'm remembering wrong. But Acceptance Speech was probably their most poppy venture
