They could of that's the thing, they could of done tryouts or something. I think they just picked this guy up cause he was in another band in the scene already.

Hopefully there's a little more variety to his vocals on the new album.. When he was in No Consequence he used some lows, maybe they chose a song that didn't have many so that he couldn't be directly compared to Jamie because those are some crazy big shoes to fill. Still enjoyed the song but hoping for some better stuff on the whole album.

Just isn't the same, I don't know how you can go from Jaime who was fucking brutal as hell. To this dude, who sounds like he has something stuck in his throat. He can't scream worth a shit, and it doesn't even fit the music. Only thing that sounds somewhat ok is the clean vocals. I'm disappointed, you can't tell me that someone better didn't tryout. I saw some of the auditions on youtube, that people put up. There are so many people in this world, their had to be someone else that was better. R.I.P.- Heart Of A Coward

I think the song is decent, i just don't think there is anything special when it comes to the vocals. He really doesn't have much of a range, his scream sounds weak. I've never really cared much for a mid range scream, unless it was only used from time to time. The clean vocals sound alright, and i do like the song. It's just not as good as it was with Jamie Graham. That guy had a hell of singing voice, and screaming voice. I loved his vocals, i really hope he either comes back to heart of a coward, goes back to sylosis, or gets in another band that is just as amazing as sylosis and heart of a coward was. He's just too talented, to just call it quits. He could pull off being in a hard rock band, or a metal band. He's that kind of vocalist. I'll give the new album a chance though

I agree on most but i don't think Jamie will rejoin HOAC as it was his own choice to leave. Don't know why he did but i loved his vocals too.

But let's cut the new singer some slack, he has some big shoes to fill. 

 

I like the new song but it doesn't sound like HOAC and new material will probably never top the old sound. Let's wait and see what they come up with.

Yeah i agree, he definitely has big shoes to fill. I wonder what's next for Jamie Graham? I will give the album a chance, maybe the new singer will grow on me. Like i said, it's a good song. The vocals aren't what i expected after Jamie leaving. I kinda thought they would go with someone that at least sounded somewhat similar.  Heavy bands usually get heavy vocalists, not always. But in HOAC you would think it would be something on the lines of Whitechapel vocalist, Parkway Drive vocalist, TAIM vocalist, or Betraying the Martyrs vocalist. Someone with a lot of lows and some melodic Jesse Leech style singing.

Betraying the Martyrs maybe, definitely bleed from within since they sound a lot like BTM. I think HOAC was unique in their own way though.

I know everything has already been said before, but, as a HOAC follower since day 1, i'll just say this has nothing to do with their previous 3 albums. 

Music is ok, even if not up to their standards, but vocals.. This dude just cannot fucking scream it seems, that's more like some gritty throated clean vocals where screams were supposed to be. 

Even real clean vocals aint nothing worth noticing. 

EDIT: that's not to say he's not a good singer, he just doesnt fit in HOAC, because HOAC was meant for Jamie's vocals.

 

I'll just say good luck to the boys and stick to their first 3 albums if this gonna be the trend.
