LIVE AOTY

As much as I like Northlane (AOTY 2017 lul) and I know how fantastic they are live, this feels kinda phoned in? Like they got live sound feed from various places around the world, why not release a live dvd in some badass expertly filmed/recorded set instead? Kind of a bizarre choice, the Citizen video for example doesn't even sound great, I've seen better sounding live videos of them playing last year lol. Anyways, gonna give the rest of the songs a spin.

I was hoping Solar or Heartmachine would make it on here but this is still pretty cool. Thank you!

After seeing what BMTH did with their live video at Royal Albert Hall, all live performance CD's like this are just "meh" to me. Don't get me wrong, I love Northlane, but if you're not going to do anything special like BMTH did then whats the point...

This a great set of songs for a live album, my only complaint is that I wish it was longer. Marcus' vocal are on fucking point.

They should just record a full set in their hometown or something. This still sounds sick though, can't wait until I see them at Slam Dunk again.

Marcus is incredible

"If you thought you knew it all
Don’t shift your view, you might slip and fall
A long way down and down this rabbit hole
If the tunnel runs any deeper
You might come out the other side of the world
Maybe upside down you’ll be able see this isn’t what it seems
We are far from free."

never understood live albums much, well I should say I never liked them much. Much prefer a live show to watch instead of just audio. Only exception is Metallica - S&M, baffling live album.

I'd say for bands in a situation like Northlane, where they have more songs with another vocalist than their current, it is interesting to hear Marcus's version of those songs.

Also, because I believe he has improved greatly since Node it is nice to hear those songs with his new ability.

I do think though that a live album should be longer though. Somehwere between 15-20 songs is preferred.

Oh dude, Marcus is great I just find it hard to listen to live albums, it is nothing against Northlane.

Completely agree. That DVD will probably be the coolest live DVD ever released imo. What a performance.

That live performance of "Doomed" is honestly better than the studio version. The orchestra is such a perfect fit that trying to listen to the standard version feels like an injustice.

And as much as I like Northlane, whoever handles their official twitter account needs to chill. My feed has been 90% "Northlane retweeted" for the past 3 days and I follow like 50-100 other bands lol.

I've got the S&M DVD and it's fantastic. That and the SRV and Double Trouble concerts are hard to beat IMO.
