One of my top five favorite bands, ever. So excited to hear this after that last (imo) disappointing experimental/instrumental album Unfall. I hope it's as amazing as Metanoia & disc 1 of Everything is Burning are.

IAMX's the one of my favourites, Chris is an excellent musician and singer. Metanoia was better with its unforgettable dark and sad atmosphere, but this album is good. Break the Chain, Body Politics, Exit, Mile Deep Hollow are very nice.

After almost a couple weeks of listening, I can say that this is my least favorite IAMX release to date (I don't include Unfall). Rather than an awakening & rebirth, imo it sounds more like "I'm happier now, so I'm not sure wtf to do with this album". Most of it is pretty boring, the mastering is complete crap & distorted to all hell (as has been the case with several of their albums, but Metanoia had pretty great mastering for a modern release), and Kat Von D on five tracks was just so trendy of him. It's better than having  Janine Gezang singing with her rotten chipmunk vocals, but why can't Chris just sing the damn songs himself?

 

I'm not sure he can ever top the brilliance of Metanoia and disc 1 of Everything is Burning.
