Whoever Kendrick Lamar is, for real album of the year? I highly doubt it, it's not even real music.

All the songs were solid on this album and should be hip-hop AOTY, while I loved it I think Brand New would have been a better AOTY winner for this site, but as others have been saying it was a really divided vote with the hip-hop listeners able to focus on one while others had votes split.

While i agree this is pretty childish, i support the fact that the AOTY winner isn't representative of our community.

This is true, but as someone said above, metal/core listeners are always divided over the myriad core/metal releases of the year, hip hop/rap dudes had one album to vote for in the poll, and DAMN did pretty good on the site when it came out.

So yeah, it surely aint representative of the community but who cares, i dont think KL album of the year title counts that much after all.

I guess when there is only 1 album from a particular genre on the list, it has an advantage.  Brand New in 2nd place is also surprising to me.

Lowkey called it somehow winning due to it being the sole hiphop album in the poll even tho it's neither the best hiphop album this year nor his best album. That said, it's still a better album than most of the options in the poll.

Love the fact of him winning alone. All the butthurt core kids :D

Brockhampton released two more albums this year than Kendrick, and they were all wayyyyyyyyy better than "DAMN."
