none of those bands can be considered BIG bands of 2008 besides August Burns Red and thats a stretch. you dont see teens wearing band tees with those bands often do you? thats beacause are less known.

What I'm saying is all the big names that made the genre what is today. Everyone from 2008 is going soft. If you want good sh*t gotta hit up less known bands like I prevail

Bad Omens, Crossfaith, Wage War, and Fit For a King, to name a few.

Two of those names are somewhat newer, but still gained a lot of traction and a damn big following.

but again. none of them are BIG names from 2008. and I Prevail DOES further my point. cause they are newer but heavy and very good. if you want heavy, you can go with the big names anymore

Fit For a King (formed in 2007) and Crossfaith (formed in 2006) are pretty big names for the genre they're in. Also Converge were mentioned by another member and they've been around since 1990.. You really can't use the "weren't around in 2008" point and then bring up I Prevail as they only formed 4 years ago, lmao.

my point wasnt ONLY from when they were formed. im talking about popularity in 2008. yes they were big names, but they werent big names like Escape The Fate Sleeping With Sirens My Chemical Romance Asking Alexandria Pierce the Veil. the ones that EVERYONE blasted and had their merch

So what you are actually talking about is scene bands, not metalcore bands. Okay, I agree. Most of those are not heavy bands. Most of those also never were heavy bands  to begin with though and also weren't very good to begin with.

i can agree with everything you just said. however. they at least did have a few heavy songs. like This War Is Ours and Ungrateful IF You Cant Hang. Bulls In the Bronx now its straight pop pretty much. thats what im getting at . im not calling to call them "scene" cause thats not even a genre. they are in fact. Post Hardcore/ Metalcore depending on the record we are talking about.

Trivium still sells out stadiums dude. Lol They've been going strong for years.

The fact that you think teenagers in band shirts decide who is the biggest band is why you're wrong.

Also, Parkway Drive. They only get bigger each album.

Code Orange toured with System of a Down and are nominated for a fucking Grammy.

Don't PRETEND to know what you're talking about man.

Band: *does soft music after screaming for a few years, in most cases to save their voice so they don't destroy it*

People: wow they're making the music they wanna make and I don't like it. They must be sellouts.

I highly disagree. The only proof you really need is to look at what Falling in Reverse BECAME. Not that I dislike like Falling in Reverses first 2 albums. I love them. But that newer crap ugh. Also this way the fans got 2 different bands out of the deal.

Without Craig we never would have got epic songs like This Is War. Ten Miles Wide. Ungrateful. And g

Gorgeous Nightmare.

Firstly "proof" of what? Music is subjective

I meant to say "first two albums with Craig" not "first two albums without Craig". TWIO and Self Titled are their best albums.

Falling in Reverse's last two albums make The Drug In Me Is You look really bad and Coming Home is almost as good as Fashionably Late

If you really think what you think about metalcore bands, and only use band merchandise to prove a point you're pretty dense, buddy. Not everyone or even close to everyone has enough money for band merchandise.

I actually [ride myself on being a vocalist, thank you very much, I have taken multiple vocal lessons and partaken in all state choirs, a lot of screamers, especially in metalcore and post hardcore don't scream the proper way, and ruin their voice, and go soft eso that they do not destroy it, just because a band goes soft and you don't like it,does not mean that they sold out.
