Well howdy community! It's been a while since I've tried to get your feedback on something, so I figured I'd start this up and get your opinions. I was thinking that for a little Xmas gift for you all, I'd host a training session on Discord and teach whomever is on there about how we determine the bitrate or quality of songs, transcodes, how to properly tag music, etc. Just a fun little thing to get the community involved and expand your knowledge on music and all the intricacies. 

 

Depending on how many are interested, I'd set up a channel on Discord and a date/time where we could conduct this training session. If you have any ideas on how to make this more fun or other things you'd like to learn, let me know and I can try to include it (if we actually go through with this).

Some random thoughts, sorry if dumb questions:

- How the display would be? written? verbal? video? could include live examples?

- Could we include an AMA with admins in the same time even if it's not directly related to technical stuff about songs, but rather how you guys organize yourselves on the website etc (no particular idea so far, just asking)

@disaR I love your ideas! Yeah, I think we could get a group together and have you ask questions to whomever wishes to participate in there; I'm sure I could convince LK and mR12 to join in without an issue. The rest of staff would probably be down to answer some questions as well. I'll ask around!

But as for the presentation of the whole thing, it'd be text with pictures as visual representation of what we're seeing and supposed to see. I do it all the time when training some of the providers, and it works pretty darn well. If necessary, I'd be more than happy to do whatever it takes to help you all learn some new stuff.

@ItsLogan yeah man, it's essentially some bare basics training for providers. With them, we'd go more in-depth and cover some more stuff, but with this you get the idea of the whole process and will learn some cool stuff along the way.

Always wanted to know how to tell the difference between a fake 320 and a real 320, besides by ear. Hope this will be included! Seems very interesting.

Alrighty, so I've decided that we will work on spectral analysis, transcodes, and properly tagging music. I have all the programs downloaded that will be necessary for both PC and Mac and will give you whichever one you need. I need to get some feedback from you all on when you'd like to do this. I have a discord chat all set up, so all I need is a time frame from you all. I'm pretty open at the moment, so if you'd like to jump on Discord and join the chat, we can work on making this happen
